Default Floor Pan

My 67 needs floor pans replaced. Is there an easy fix or cut and welding the only option?

My last 67 was mostly fiberglass no metal floors or body parts....

Sorry to burst your plan but cut and weld is not an option for a fiberglass-bodied car.

I'm curious as to why it needs floors. That is not a normal thing to go wrong on a mid year. I have seen them crack around the seats and around the pedals but never to the point in where you need new ones.

I have not looked for replacement pans yet. Just trying to figure out what I am getting into. I just assumed they are welded in?

The new guy did not know it was fiberglass underneath the old carpet.
The issue is this. Below the gas and brake pedal floor board is soft to the point the gas pedal pulls off the throttle to the left.

The floor could have a crack or split in it. You should be able to see this by getting under the car and looking at the lower part of the firewall between the tunnel and where the clutch linkage comes out (provided you have an M/T). It obviously can't be welded, but fiberglassing up problems like that isn't too tough a job. I had a similar problem on my '66.

Go easy on him- not a totally far fetched question as c3's did eventually sport a steel panel section in the floor and it obviously can and will rust.

Most of us ask questions from time to time that seem elementary to others. The forum works because everyone gets help.

We can stand a little humor. A large part of the rest of the vintage car world thinks old Corvette owners are all half-crazed vehicular archeologists and genealogists anyway.

You can almost repair anything but if bubba cut out your floor pan area I have floor sections for mid years. I am cleaning up my supply of old fiberglass and going to sell it off.

Thank you all for the kind responses to my uneducated question about the floor board in my 67. I will cherish this moment in time. As someone once said, Stupid is as Stupid does.

Well said - you'll fit right in here (among the half-crazed).

What kind of ignition do you run, points or petronix?

Petronix and it works well. Rebuilt the original 600 Holley, good for now. In the process of replacing a deck spring, a pain.
Original am/fm radio has a bad volume control. know anywhere to buy parts?

Sorry about sucking you into the Petronix question - it's a rookie thing, and one of the top ten or so most controversial topics (although it makes no sense why). I got called out above fro brining it up.

Yes, the deck springs can be a pain, particularly if the spring/hinge assembly has to come out and the fasteners are badly rusted/frozen.

Mine has so many needs that I am ignoring my radio for now.
