Default To add headers or not to add headers!

I thought about this for a long time I have a 2002 auto with Lg X-pipe and Corsa Sport cat back would like it to be louder and would not mind more power but with no drone. I also don't want problems down the road caused from adding headers. Help Please!

Unless you live in California (some strict emissions rules--or so I've read), I'm not sure if adding headers would really cause any issues? I've heard some people say they are an inch or so lower to the ground than the rest of the car (but others don't say that--so that is probably specific to the brand you choose), but that shouldn't be a huge concern.

I'm getting headers at Carlisle. You should definitely get them.

As long as the install is done right (O2 extensions, keep plug wires away from header tubes and any wiring, etc.), adding headers shouldn't be a problem. Be sure to get a tune for max benefit.

I say do it. Headers and dyno tune really woke my car up. And the sound is intoxicating.

Where do you live? They are doing free installs of certain headers in August at Carlisle.

100% worth the investment. If I could do it again I would.

As all others said - Do it!

And with the tune I understand the trans shift points can be adjusted to further wake her up....

If you do have our X pipe on there, you wouldn't even have to purchase the entire system but I do need to know if it is our X pipe and if someone modified it to fit the car.

The '04, six speed coupe has the following: Calloway Honker Intake, LG street pro 1.75" headers, matching X-pipe with high flow cats. Street tune with 180 T-stat. Did have TI axle back, just installed a SLP GTR axle back. Whole package really woke up the car. Headers are jet hot coated. Be sure to install new plugs, wires and the heat shield wire boots. Street tune with HP Tuners or similar is all you need. Milage stayed almost the same, unless your right foot gets real heavy. Drivability is awesome, totally a new car.
Regards,
Chas

I've had headers on my car for the last 12 years, and headers on the last several Camaro's before it with no issues other than occasionally having to snug up bolts. I have Kook's on my car now, only regret is not having them ceramic coated.

There is a Honker intake on the classifieds right now that will fit your car for $400.00 shipped. I would grab it if you do not have a true CAI on the car.

You will not be disappointed with a set of headers. Great upgrade. No issues with drivability or emissions.

Kooks headers on my 02 with the Borla S Type II and x pipe. It is awesome. Had them professionally installed and tuned. No problems and I will tell you it is not the same car. Just great performance boost and sound!! DO IT

Do it!! I installed Kooks headers, Kooks high flow cats & xpipe with Corsa Xtreme...than had a street tune and the difference was amazing. The Vararam CAI also helped.

Cool, yeah if that is the case and the installer didn't modify it I see no reason why you would have to purchase the full system. Ring me or shoot me a PM and I can break it down for you if that is the route you want to go.
