Default Messing Around With Old Corvettes

My girlfriend told me that if I didn't stop spending so much time working on my Corvette, she was going to leave me.

I'm gonna miss her......

I still have the two GTO's I bought when I was 21 - 22. The gal-of-the-moment is long gone. Still driving/enjoying the Pontiacs with no drama over 30 years later..........

Just follow her around the house and bug her for awhile, and she will be glad again to quarantine you again to the garage.

My wife tells people "he spends a lot of time out in the other garage working on his cars, but at least I know where he is".

Just park the Vette at the end of the driveway.

Ask you Lady to go walk down toward the car.

Then ask yourself which one you thinks "Looks Better Leaving".

From a Man that's had 8 wives, an never lost a house in the Divorce.

When they left me, they when back to their Husbands. They lost the house in the Divorce!

Didn't keep either the GTO or the girl. Fortunately, I have a great replacement for each.

I've had a lot of "keepers" over the years. Usually I was not smart enough to keep them. Won't make THAT mistake again!

Or get her one and she can enjoy the hobby also!
Back in 1999 I told my wife I was thinking of buying a car trailer so I can put one of the cars in it. She replied "why not put an addition on the garage". After I was finally able to speak, I put a 22 x 24' addition on my 24 x 40' existing garage!
So my wife is a keeper.
Joe

I bought my '67 before I married my first wife; kept it after the divorce since it wasn't community property!

#2 is a keeper - the only woman I've ever met who likes cars as much as I do!

The reality of your situation is that there are a lot more potential girlfriends available in this world than there are classic Corvettes!

Met my wife in 1974. Bought the 65 in 1971. Still have both. My wife has never tried to get in the way of my passion, any more than I would with the things she enjoys. People without a passion for something are a bore. Still enjoy the Vettes and my wife's company

17 years ago I started looking for a C3. I really wanted a C2, but figured I needed to keep costs within reason as I had retired from the USAF a couple years earlier and bought a house the year before. When I showed my wife a few pictures of C3s I was interested in, she said "I thought you wanted a different style (C2)". I said yeah, but they cost more. She told me I should go buy the one I wanted, so I started looking for a C2 and found my '66 L79 convertible a couple months later. This summer we'll celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary.

I bought my first, one, and only Corvette (56) almost 45yrs ago. In the mid-70s is was in a gazillion pieces and I was going through a divorce. She said that she was going to keep the Corvette, I said "fine, you can put it back together". She said "you mean you won't put it back together?" I said "hell no!" She decided she didn't want it. Today the 56 and my wife of 35yrs are keepers and she has her own car, a 70 Chevelle conv.

1973 right after I bought it

1974 when it was apart and just before the divorce

Today, undergoing a little cleaning.

And her car

I just wrench on it and "road test" it!
