Default 2017 Canadian Z06

Just wondering how may Canadians that placed Z06 orders received them. Mine was built Oct 24 and arrived at my dealer Nov 4.

Ordered mine early January, build date was Feb 26 and was told due to Canadian climate, GM would not deliver until mid April. 2LZ WGG, M7. The wait is killing me!

When I finally did get an allocation on my '16 Z, which wasn't easy, it took 4 days from build to delivery at dealer. Built on Monday and at dealer in Ontario on Friday. It was very fast.

So are allocations a lot tougher to get up in Canada? Seems like now they have all they can sell down here, the supply shouldn't be artificially constrained for Canada unless there's a lot of specific equipment. Daytime running lights already in there, so a Metric dash is all I can think of... French owners manuals on backorder maybe?

No, it's economics. GM has to sell them for less here (after F/X conversion).

For example, if they sell a Z06 for say 105k loaded in the USA...they would have to sell that same car here for 141-145K CDN (based on a 1.3450 $$), and they can't. They sell for a good 10-15K under that here.

No one would buy them over list here, leave alone 15K over the current MSRP.

So GM sells them here as a token gesture, because they have to...not because they want to. And they only import something like a few hundred/ year into Canada. That's how allocations work here.

Most GM dealers in Canada will never see one and it's why they're so hard to get here compared to the US, where you can get 'em for 30% off at year end. That NEVER happens here on a Z.

That's exactly what I was thinking and why we see used ones that are priced over list.

When I bought my 991 TTS in 2016, it was the same thing here. No discounts and used were selling for more than new...because of the constraints by Porsche on the dealers here. I was lucky to get a big fat 3% discount on mine, which is more than I got on my Z, which was NOTHING! LOL

I could buy a 991 TTS in the US for 15% off list - on a custom order.

My build week was Feb 22nd and the dealer recently informed my my car is currently in the shipping process and they will have it by months end. 2017 M7 Z06 3LZ, I'm pumped! I'll be picking it up around mid April. What has everyone got for deals in Canada? Most I could get was $1500 off MSRP...

I got ZERO off MSRP and was lucky to even get the allocation...which took me 6 months to find. I only found it here through another member who posted about one being available in Ontario...and I happened to be on the forum that day.

Default $7k off msrp

I am in Toronto and ordered from a dealer in the GTA.

My 17 Z06 conv has a Mar 13 Tpw. I got $7k off msrp.

The dealer had 1 more for allocation in Feb. I am not sure if spoken for now.

Every other dealer I contacted wanted msrp.

That's the most I've heard too! Called pretty much everywhere, MSRP was what most dealers wanted. A couple out west offered 2k off, but best in the GTA I found was $1500...

A dealer friend told me that they will wait a few months and get some low mileage used cars from the US. Since they have no allocation for Corvettes they import used ones every year and have no problems selling them. If you are in the market for one this may be a cost effective way to get one for a less than a new one.

Not worth it right now with the way the dollar is. It's actually cheaper for Americans to import one from Canada...I wish it was the other way around. My last vette was inported from Detroit when the dollar was even..

I ordered a 2LZ Z06 Coupe M7 just over a month ago. Got a bit over 6g off of Msrp. Build date is March 20th. Dealer cost was around 9k under msrp and had to pull a few strings to get the allotment locally but it worked out.

I ordered mine as soon as the 17's were released and got delivery mid November- Z06,3LZ,CCB, WGG paint, coupe. Pretty nice but havent driven it yet.
Heard about 400 come to Canada and then that's it. I tried to buy a new one last year in Florida and dealers would NOT sell me a new car if it was to be exported out of the country.
I talked to the dealer who sold me mine here and they weren"t allowed to sell to US residents either.
Same deal as buying Harleys-the selling dealer only sells to its citizens.

If you are looking for Z in Canada and don't mind buying from over west i know a dealer thats interested in being the biggest vette dealer in Canada over making the most on every car. They get the allotments not like many smaller dealers where they don't care with their single allotment, someone will pay msrp and it will be gone. Even though i didn't end up purchasing at this particular dealer they gave me the inside scoop on margins and that type of honesty can't be beat imo.
