Default gutted cats vs catless x-pipe

I was thinking of gutting my ar highflow cats instead of buying the catless x-pipe. My question is ? Is there any sound difference or hp difference in doing this? Thanks in advance for your input...

Will be louder and make a few more HP

I would find someone to trade or sell those and get catless. Destroying a good part doesn't seem like a good choice.

Gutted cats will also pass a visual emission inspection.

You can sell your catted x-pipe to recoup most of that cost.

I've gutted cats on other cars and it will get louder. Didn't make a noticeable HP difference.

when I gutted my cats, I thought it would be a lot louder. Really couldn't tell a difference in sound or power.

When I switched from a catted to non-catted Kooks x-pipe, the sound did not increase much. It changed, but it wasn't night/day.

I read somewhere that the cats usually get clogged running meth and a supercharger. Is this true??

Has nothing to do with meth, but yes, the elevated exhaust temps of a blower setup, along with the richer AFRs tend to melt cats.

If you want a set of Kooks gutted cat mid pipes, I have a set sitting at ECS that I would sell cheaply (in fact, I have a ton of parts at ECS). I had to gut them because the cats did not like any or all of the following: race fuel, meth, heat, boost, me.

Don't gut the good parts.

Not to hi-jack this thread, but what about high flow cats and nitrous? Sounds like it might be a bad combination, but I was just curious if I should go ahead and get rid of them.
