Default Corvette Delivery pics~March 19th old ads/throwback pics/stories-Mike@Criswell

~What a cool time to be involved with the Corvette. You got racing at Sebring, Corvette shows, Cars and coffee events, ZR1 testing at Laguna Seca and in a few months the 24 hrs of Lemans...oh and lets not forget what's happening at the Corvette Plant and Museum. I am sure late next month at the Corvette Bash there will be many different announcements. The Corvette Team of GM always does a tremendous job in Bowling Green introducing what's on the horizon for the next model year. I will be in Bowling Green the 24th/25th for a Callaway summit and will get to drive new Callaway Supercharged product on the Racetrack across from the Museum...and then will be at the Bash Wednesday the 26th thru Friday the 28th. Follow the action on my CorvetteFurman Facebook page.

~Rich R. Of Pemberton, NJ called me last week knowing what he wanted and we settled on a deal and quick. I appraised his 2014 Corvette with 27k miles over the phone and Saturday Rich and the Mrs drove down 175 miles from New Jersey to make the switch. Rich was supposed to come Wednesday but the storm changed that plan. I gave him the option of Saturday or next week and his response was "Oh no, it needs to be this Saturday so I can be in your Sunday post this week!" Rich chose a 2017 Sterling Blue Grand Sport Corvette with Gray interior, 2LT Pkg, Auto trans, Nav/PDR and much more! Rich had a permanent grin driving away. They were at Criswell and headed home within an hour of walking in for their 10am appt. as promised.

~Brian F. Of Stevenson Ranch, California placed a factory order for his new 2017 Z06 Cpe to enjoy the Corvette Museum delivery experience and then had it shipped from the Museum in Kentucky to his home in Calif. Brian ordered His Z06 in Black/Black with 7spd trans, CF instrument panel, seat inserts microfiber, Chrome wheels and 3 LZ Pkg.

~Steve W. of Peoria, AZ called me 10 weeks ago to Factory order a new 2017 Z06 Cpe. He chose Watkins Glen Gray with Dark Gray interior, 2LZ Pkg , Auto trans, Nav/PDR, Black wheels, CF Instrument panel, CF visible ground effects Pkg and much more. I had it drop shipped for Courtesy delivery at an Arizona Chevrolet dealer near his home.

~Ray M. Of Fort Lauderdale, Florida placed his factory order with me 7 weeks ago and just the other day he took delivery at the Corvette Museum! 2017 Corvette Grand Sport Cpe in Watkins Glen Gray with Adrenaline Red interior, 2LT Pkg, Micro fiber inserts, CF badges, 7 Spd manual trans, red calipers, Black Alum wheels, two tone seats and much more. Great color combo!!

~It takes great vision to formulate a plan and stick to it.
Jeremy W. of Lawton OK. factory ordered a new 2017 Admiral Blue Grand Sport Cpe from me last Summer and took Museum Delivery the first week of September. Then all his idea's went in motion. This past week was the very first time he actually started putting miles on the car that he has named "Tribute"...check out the story and pics in the link below. This is one Corvette that will garner much attention everywhere and anywhere it goes. Look for it at the Corvette Bash in Bowling Green, KY in the end of April. Jeremy will be the one with the huge smile on his face!

~Gary Of Severn, MD reached out to me 6 weeks ago to factory order his very first Corvette. Gary's 1st Corvette is Long Beach Red with Kalahari, 3LT, Auto trans, performance exhaust, chrome wheels, body color wing spoiler and more. It fit snugly in his garage.

~Chad W. of Stafford, VA came in on Feb 4th to test drive a Grand Sport. He placed his order on Feb 7th, his GS was completed March 7th and today March 18th took delivery of his 2017 Grand Sport cpe. Watkins Glen Gray with Black Microfiber insert Competition seat, CF mirrors, Black wheels, 7spd manual trans and 1LT Pkg. Great combo.

~A 2017 Grand Sport Convt. Collectors Edition #684 got shipped to its new owner in Florida this past week. My guess is of the 1,000 built that less than 200 of them will be Convt's. Looking forward to seeing the final numbers this Summer when they are released.

~Throwback picture time...post up which picture is your favorite.

James Garner but look in background...

Johnny Carson's parking spot...and his white C4.

Pete Callaway hanging with Jay Leno last week in the Callaway Corvette

Reeves Callaway and I at Spring Mountain 5 years ago...

2018 ZR1 testing at Laguna Seca the other day. Different height rear spoilers to choose from....

Have a great week!

That Dreamland Furniture picture showing fifties cars looks just like Havana Cuba today. I just returned from Cuba, surprised that about seventy percent of their cars were produced mid fifties. Didn't think the percentage would be that high. Some of the cars are in very good shape others I wouldn't even get into. The oldest car I saw was a late forties Chrysler product, newest cars were produced early sixties (1961). US Citizens can now travel to Cuba, consult your travel agent for more information.

Mike, another fantastic Sunday post. I actually got to it on the first page of replies!

The C2 427/435 ad is my favorite throwback this week.. but any of the C2's look so fantastic. i am going to have to find a way to own one some day.. i'm convinced of it..

That Tribute GS stole the show this week also Mike... WOW.. what a nice job..

Glad to see so many happy faces picking up dream cars from you once again.

Lastly, looking at the Collector Edition Convertible really makes me think i want that NOW.. So tough deciding on which one to get

I love my car but these threads make it very difficult to not dream on "what if?"

Thanks Mike, and congrats. again to all the new vehicle owners.......... especially like the Sterling Blue and the Watkins Glen Gray with Red interior C7's!

All of the C2 throwback photos are great............... especially since that is the generation for me personally which really made the Corvette the American icon it has so deservedly become.

Jeremy's tribute car is spectacular too............ posted in his thread here earlier this week.

Thanks Mike! 1st customer delivery story. I'm honored! We had a great time even though it was short. Was by far the easiest, no pressure sale experience in a long time. I am very thankful for that.
Favorite picture has to be Mr. Duntov.
