Default GM replaced fuel tanks, fuel pumps AT NO COST

Aam Roach, Service Manager at Greico Chevrolet, Delray Beach, Florida, replaced my entire fuel system for me. 2008 Corvette 6 speed manual, 48K miles. He picked up my car at my home because he recognized the potential hazard with leaking fuel. He further said he is willing to assist ANY Corvette with similar problems. He can be reached via email, "roacha@griecocars.com".:thu mbs:

That's great. On my side it is disconcerting that I got a warning letter from GM saying I may have a future potential problem, but if it's more than ten years old or has more than one hundered thousand miles I'm SOL. They sent me the letter one month before the ten year limit. That was not a feel good moment.

Same here. My '07, with 30k miles, was built in December, 2006. I suspect it was probably "put into service" sometime the following spring, which would be ten years ago right now.

GM replaced my fuel pump problem but I was out of pocket for one of the gas tanks. You've got a good dealership!

Default One month on mine too.

I detect a trend here, my 2007 with only 14K. I got my letter one month before expiration, dated about three weeks before I got it.

I just got my 07 a month ago, the car hit 10 years old in January and no letter, not sure if I will get one since I bought the car used, so far no fuel issues knock on wood

The letter says not to bring it to them if you have no symptoms.

I notice that more 2008's and up are reporting this issue, so maybe our earlier cars had a better pump assembly (hoping)..

Count me in 07 also. Are they waiting for a fire and people die because of the defective design or cheap components? Time for a recall on the fuel problem, definite safety hazard.

Add my '08, strong fuel smell when garaged, but weird thing is not always. Plan having this checked out next month when oil's changed.
Sure would hate paying for it on my own dime.

Isn't the mileage limit 120K? An earlier post says 100K.

I think it's 100, but I'm too lazy to look for my letter cuz it doesn't matter for me.

Car is okay . . . so far.

So far my '08 (25K miles) doesn't smell of gas, and I haven't gotten any letter but I have been looking for a good nearby dealer and Grieco is fairly close. My car's in-service date was Jan '09 so GM's campaign should be good till Jan '19. Then I've got Maxcare warranty till Jan '22. Still thanks for the HU about Grieco!

Isn't 120K mileage limit for GMEPP? 10 yrs or less & <120K, IIRC.
Being currently at half 100K I didn't pay as much attention to mileage limit as I did MY on this recall.

Also, covered by GMEPP 'til '19/85K.
I never use the miles warranties/recalls like this afford, it's the years catching me.
If there is an issue now, GM & their finance arm will have to fight over the bill.

Default gas smell

Has anyone heard that this is an issue with the later C6's? 2010-2011?
