Default Spring Carlisle Shopping Offer

Dear Fellow C-3 enthusiasts. I wanted you to be aware that Spring Carlisle is coming April 19-23 and I plan to attend it again this year.

It is a big swap meet, and I mean a very big swap meet, with all brands and types of vehicles and parts listed. And I am just crazy enough to do my best to walk this unbelievably huge setting.

So here is my extended offer. If you need something and want me to look for it I will be glad to keep my eyes open for you.

If you do this it comes with a couple of rules and requests.

1) I will need a phone number contact that can be used to send you pictures of what I find.
2) I will need an estimated price you think you would be willing to pay for the part or parts you are seeking.
3) Depending upon the size and weight of the parts I will want to determine if they can be shipped or if special arrangements will be needed to get it from me to you.
4) I would like some assurance that if you approve the purchase that you will honor my purchase with a commitment to pay me for what I buy for you.

It has worked well in the past, ask some forum members, but I cannot guarantee I will locate what you are looking for, I can only try.

So if you want me to look then lets get some dialogue started. As the requests come in I will start a listing and put your forum name and phone number by them. Please make sure to PM me a mobile number for you so I can reach you.

Thank you and best regards,

David Howard

Awesome offer as usual David!

If you can keep an eye out for a pair of 68 rear back up lights. I don't need the fiberglass mounts or lenses since I already have a set of repro replacements. Hoping for an original set in ok shape for $100 or less.

Also looking for a front lower valance for the 68 as well. Replacements run ~$180, so anywhere less than that.

Thanks for again doing this for us who cant make it there,

In my case i still have interest in c3 flip front clips, obnoxious item for some cat to haul there but maybe, all you need to do for me is grab the sellers contact info,
One other item would be a real long shot but a made for 68-73 rear trans am spoiler, looks like the one on your wrapper racer, ecklers did sell them you will know it as it will look like the spoiler plus inches of top deck, so it could be glasses in...

Here is my number always good to text info to,
Bats 407 496 8334

Many thanks as always,

I will be attending on Thursday and Friday, April 19th and 20th for a couple of reasons. First one is simply first come, first served and the best time for availability is the first and second days. Secondly, I have a commitment for the 22nd which involves a friends last day in the area and I need to be back home early in the day so Saturday and Sunday will not be my shopping days.

Phone numbers that can accept text messages and pictures are the best way to get timely information from me at the show. FYI.

Best regards,

David

I am back from a day of walking, talking, looking, and finding nothing on the shopping list for any of those that asked me to look. There were only four Corvette Parts vendors there, and lots of swap items were anything but Corvette. The hot items were valve covers; engine blocks; transmissions galore; and one really nice 1969 frame in excellent shape selling for $1,200. A rear clip to a 69 convertible sold for $200. One guy alone had excellent prices and guess what, they were all selling quickly. He will leave the show with a pocket full of cash and a smile. He was nearly bought out by this afternoon. Now that is the way to sell at a show. Good parts at good prices. Many others could learn from that guy. Example: Pedal assembly, rusty, needed full restoration to be usable, I inquired and the guy said $375. I just smiled and said thank you. I bought a restored one recently for $220. And there were many more like this one on a variety of parts. Best to just smile and move on, wish them the best of luck.
So my apologies to all that had me look, not the right show for Corvette parts. August and Corvettes at Carlisle will be much better.
Best regards,
David
