Grandsport custom cam installed (video inside)
*Dyno Graph update post #14* Just wanted to post up a quick video of my 12 GS that I just wrapped up a cam install in. Cam was a custom grind for good drive ability, and a healthy idle. Specs are 227/234 613/578 113+3. Should make good midrange power. Car is untuned as of now, besides some minor idle stuff I did on my own to get it too idle at about 800. Other mods include Texas speed 1 7/8 long tube headers to stock NPP mufflers, and a Halltech MF103 intake. I also used Texas speed's pac racing .660 lift polished springs with titanium retainers. The install is still fresh in my mind so if anybody has any questions about the Install feel free to ask away I may be able to help!

Sounds sweet. How do you get away with cam install in California? Doesn't that screw you on emissions there? And out of curiosity...how much were you charged to do whole cam install...including price of cam, lifter springs, etc? I got quoted a ridiculous amount up here in Canada. Like $7K Cdn to do a cam swap....ugh.

That does sound good, not too much and not too little
But Mexifornia looks to be suffering from a lack of street maintenance as bad as Arizona is, shame our infrastructure is in such bad shape, and its nation wide.

Well finally got the car tuned and I couldn't be more happy. She put down 460/448 and drives exactly like stock. The midrange and low end is so strong and it pulls great up top as well! Here's the graph.

Is it technically a smog cam.. no, will it pass smog yes. With good cats I've had cams with 5* of overlap pass, barely, but did pass. This cam is 4.5* so I'm sure I'm in range. But CA smog doesn't do a sniffer test with 2001 and newer vehicle. As long as the oem cats are installed and I don't throw any codes im walking out with pass.
