About to pull the trigger on a 2014 Z51
In the process of buying a 2014 corvette Z51 with only 5k miles. Checked car fax and it appears to be good. Anything I should look out for? Should i do a pre purchase inspection?
Should low miles like that make me nervous?
This will be my first corvette.

guess it never hurts to have it checked mechanically. are you buying from a dealer or indidual. If individual, ask him why he/she is selling? I wouldn't worry about low miles alot of people garage these cars just for the weekend.
you will love it. I bought my 14 when they first came out and it's been an awesome car.
btw what package is it? and does it have mag control and what is price?

Having Z51 does not guarantee that it also has the magnetic ride suspension. If the shocks are yellow, then it does NOT have the magnetic ride.

I would have a trusted mechanic look the car over - better to be safe on the purchase than sorry. Good luck - hope it all works out.

There are life changing issues that create potential purchase opportunities which you see on a low mileage Vette. I will be looking to sell my '15 Z51 A8 with 5,100 miles (stored 15 of the 30 months of ownership) due to health deterioration. Stuff happens and there is not much a person can do.

Check the wheels carefully. I neglected to do this and found 2 wheels with slight dents in them from the previous owner's lack of pothole avoidance skills. It was hard to see but the rims are very thin on the Z51 wheels. Cost me a set of wheels.

Having it checked over is cheap insurance! Don't worry about the low miles, common in the vette world. I just bought mine with 1300 miles on it - brand new car, used car price.

I would have it looked at. I would also have the owner or a GM dealer give you a printout of all the service records. Make sure the car was properly serviced. It may have low miles but you should also have service done based on date and not just mileage.
You can also contact GM via online chat with the VIN number and they can tell if the car has a flagged warranty.
As was mention it is not uncommon at all to find low mileage Corvette's. For many people this is a toy/fun car that only gets driven on weekends or during peak weather season.

Something I always do when applicable--check under the front end with your hand to feel if there are scrapes-kind of gives a quick assessment as to how careful the previous owner was when parking head on-especially a 2014 w/o the front camera.

I love my 14 Z51.

Drifting
There are lots of 2014's with 5000 miles or less. many people buy these things, cover them in plastic and let them sit in the garage to look at for a few years, then sell for something new to look at.
