Nothing is more highly-rated than the OEM Michelin PSS for summer use. For all-season use, the Michelin PS AS3+ is the #1 rated UHP tire, and performs almost as well as the PSS does in hot temps.

Anything else you might replace them with would be a downgrade, unless it's a Michelin Sport Cup, but those are 2-3K mile tires and they're gone.

I would either get the OEM Pilot Super Sports again or the new Pilot Super Sports 4S tires which are the newest model. Can't go wrong with the Pilot Super Sports and living in Florida I would not bother with any all season tires.

Thrill, I think you speaking of the new Michelin PS4S, which will ultimately replace the PSS. Unfortunately, it's not available as a ZP at this time.

And BTW, the AS3+ is superior to the PSS in temps below 70 degrees, which even FL sees. The PSS is only better when it's very hot.

A/S 3+ is a great DD tire, all weather, doesn't give up traction nearly as bad in cold weather as the OEM's. i have 20K on my A/S 3+ in less than a year and will probably buy another set. Mileage looking to be 20 to 30% more than the OEM's too. Best price (over Discount & The Rack) that I found was at Costco.

Depends on where you live, I guess. I just got a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ for my non-Z51 Vette. So far I really like the tires. They grip really well for an All Season, even on cold pavement. I guess I would say if you will be driving it in the winter time, I would go with the all season if you see temperatures down below 20.

They are out in Z51 sizes (not GS or Z06), but there is no runflat version.

I agree with Foosh. Installed the Michelin PS AS3+'s for winter driving and really like them. Waiting on my Strasse wheels to arrive. Pairing the OEM tires with those for summer driving.

They are pretty damned good in hot weather too. I can't remember where I saw it, but I did see some test data showing the performance gap between the AS3+ and the PSS to be very narrow on hot pavement.

Conversely, at any temp below 60, the AS3+ is vastly superior.

Non-RF Michelin PS AS3+ -- about 6K on them and they are great for my driving needs.

While mine is a C6, I just replaced the 10 year old original Goodyear tires (16k miles and still good, just getting hard and noisy) with Michelin Pilot Sports 3+ all seasons in original sizes. Tremendous difference in quietness and smoothness. Not run-flats, but I bought an inflator kit from Griot's garage to keep in the trunk.

Tire technology has progressed tremendously in 10 years. I'm sure your switch from those old Goodyear tires was an eye-opening experience.

It's a good thing you replaced them, because even if the old tires appeared to have a lot of tread left, they were aged out and not technically safe. I'd never leave a tire on a vehicle more than 6 years or so, regardless of mileage.

That's a pretty C6 convertible.

I haven't replaced mine yet but will probably have to in the next 3-6 months. I'll go with either the original Michelin PSS or the PS A/S3+. Mine's a Z51 also.

If you want run-flats, stick with the OEM PSS or the AS/3+ for all-weather. If you don't care about run flats, or don't want them, I'd go with the new P4S or Continental DWS06 for all-weather.

Did Costco mount and balance your A/S 3s? Are they runflats or goflats? I have heard they won't put non runflats on a car that c

I went with the AS 3+. I have found tire rack's tire evaluations very reliable.

if you compare the PSS ZP to the AS 3+, the AS 3+ is better in the wet and comparable in the dry. since I don't track day the car, I don't ever get near the edge of the friction circle in the dry. since the friction circle is much smaller in the wet, I felt that the superior wet traction outweighted any difference in dry traction, since I wouldn't ever need that extra margin of dry traction.

that's just my 2 cents.

I just had 4 Michelin PS A/S3+ (ZP run flats) installed on my 16 Z51 by my local tire dealer $1250.00 Mounted, Balanced and all taxes included.
