09Z sits for 5 days and now runs like crap?
I'm slightly mindboggled by the fact that I left my car in a cozy garage for a long weekend (5 days) and come back to it making slight hesitations and stumbling into work.
Car was street/dyno tuned by Vengeance within the past month (wouldn't even consider it to be a problem with the tune though because it ran great up until now)
NO CEL's whatsoever - 2009 27k miles
Symptoms:
1. Idle sucks, car has mild shaking, A/C makes it worse.
2. Light accel and Low RPM hesitates but eventually evens out but not great
3. Giving it decent throttle and it clearly has a bit of reduced power, and also hesitates sometimes.
4. Highway speeds in higher gear seemed OK but I wouldn't use that to make any guesses.
Plugged in Torque OBD reader and the front OBD's seemed fine, voltage was fairly consistent and followed a consistent pattern with each other. Rear OBD's are disconnected but that doesn't mean anything. Inspected the MAF was secured, it was. Coil packs appeared to be on correctly.
The only thing I can think of was maybe bad gas? It felt like it would throw a CEL at any minute but it drove for 90 minutes today without any indicators popping up.

Check plug wires...make sure they are seated on the plugs and the coils. They sometimes pop off of the plugs but still look seated.

Made sure all 8 were seated at top and bottom, drove around a bit and it's perfect again. I guess it got knocked loose somehow and I drove 90 miles on 7 cylinders today. Or something.
Recommendations on a better set of wires that actually hold on good?

Funny, I checked the passenger side earlier at work because I replaced a plug on that side recently. Just went to check the other side now that is cooled off, I pulled the plug wire off the top of cylinder 1 and the bottom side just fell off the plug with zero effort...

MTPZ06, very nice, quick diagnosis and fix. Aside from a few rogue trolls, I am very appreciative of how everyone helps each other here over the years. There is so much knowledge and most share it with nothing to gain. Very humbling.
Glad you got it sorted OP!

In the end we all just want our cars to run smooth and pull hard.

Thanks all. Narrowed my search down to these two. One is obviously GM but has higher resistance. The others, Taylor and Summit aren't GM, but great reviews and low resistance.

You guys tell me which one and it's bought, they are all affordable. I just want long lasting, holds on tight and fits well, and smooth operation.

..... Ive seen this many times on my car once but other cars many times. doesn't have to be a Z06 either . any Vette will do it. Seems like that air is built up in the spark plug boot and it heats up cause the plug clip to expand. I always burp the boot with a paper clip. By that I mean I get the air out of the boot and seat it that way.

I've ran just about every plug wire known.
OEM, GMPP, Taylor, MSD, Autozone, Firecore.
In order of best to worst IMO
Firecore, GMPP, Autozone, Taylor, MSD
All work fine.
