Need intercoolers upgrade with 2.6 pulley ?
With 2.6 pulley and ARH headers, my IAT2 is quickly hot with drop performance after 2 or 3 runs.
Someone has already mount this LPE intercoolers upgrade ?

And see a real drop of IAT2 ?
Thanks

Modified stock intercoolers are more efficient than the Ling. ones according to testing done long time ago. Nobody who makes any power has used the Lingenfelter coolers to my knowledge.

Modifying the bricks is only to prevent them from coming apart. For better cooling swap your heat exchanger for the Edelbrock 15405. There's a lot of very good info here even though some of the pictures no longer load.

Top picture is modified stock, next 2 of what happens when they fail. The failed bricks pictured were from a ZR1 with a 2.6 pulley.

Swap will bolt on without mods ?
It will drop IAT2 ? You have before/after values ?

I mean, obviously it depends on starting IAT2 and what you define as a run. I'd have to go back to logs to confirm, but from memory I gain like 10 degrees per 2/3/partial 4th pull and recovery that back fairly quickly. If I started a pull at 130 degrees, you'd be right. ;-)

For what its worth, I believe most shops can have them done in 1-2 days tops. Depending on where you're located, shipping may take up the majority of the time. But, if you can find a shop somewhat local then the downtime may be very short. I think I read that Dedicated turns them around in 1 day.

Not sure, but if you modify your stock intercoolers, you just protect them from damage at higher boost level, but you'll not drop your IAT2 value. You need bigger intercooler and heat exchanger to drop temperatures.

Even with a Fasterproms expansion tank, I was having a hard time keeping the system below 140* on a hard 2-4 pull with the same 2.6 upper and a set of LT's, the stock HX gets overwhelmed pretty quickly once you up the pressure levels. Once I went with the D3 system, much slower rate of temp climb and very rapid recovery.

you are going to need a completely new IC system. That should be step 1 of modding any ZR1 that has increased boost.
