Stolen C6 in North Dallas
Hey Corvette community,
My house in North Dallas was burglarized yesterday with two cars stolen, including my silver 2007 C6 Corvette (see attached pic). The C6 is pretty basic with the only modifications being the painted black b-pillar and tinted windows. License plate GBN0610.
This is a long shot, but if anyone sees it please send me a message. 859-496-0047

Good luck. There was a older couple killed during a robbery in Ft Worth 2 days ago. They were Corvette enthusiasts and had a C5. The robbers stole a Kia not the C5.
You might not feel like it but you got off easier than they did.
Hate Fn thieves.

What would be nice is: 1: that you get your car back unharmed and 2: that someone here locates the car, captures the crooks, beats the absolute hell out of them THEN calls you to come get your car back. Some here may night agree with the second part of that plan, and thats ok, but me....I prefer to leave the thieves with a little something to think about.

I hate stories like this one. It's more than just the loss of stuff too. I hope the OP is made whole again.
On a side note, this makes me think a lockbox (safe) might be best for car keys in the future.

Reminds me of my car. Hope this ends badly for whomever stole it. Next time get a good safe and bolt it from the inside to the floor and keep your most valueable things including your keys inside. Did your house have an alarm? If not get one. Thieves have been known to be stupid enough to come back again sometimes. When you get ripped off a lot of times it can be someone you know. I'll keep my eyes open.

Was it an automatic transmission? I've read of carjacking's being aborted because the thief didn't know how to drive a stick shift.

The home alarm was not activated (lesson learned). I installed a large camera system today and have a security consultant coming in a day. Fortification of the home IS happening.
I do have a manual transmission. Unfortunately the person new how to drive it. Evidently well enough that one of my neighbors saw him and thought it was me speeding out of the neighborhood (faster than usual and so much so that he stopped by to complain about it).
Some good news: the Highlander has been found (it was a dumpster inside with the dashboard being used as an ashtray and tons of stolen goods inside because it became their go-to car for theft). Unfortunately, the Dallas PD is not feeling very confident about the recovery of the Corvette. They think it may be somewhere in Garland, so keep your eyes peeled.
