Anyone heard if SPEED INC from Schaumburg, IL
I am thinking about getting some work done on my C5 and was wondering if any of you can recommend this place?
How is the quality of their work?
Are they professional?
Are they knowledgeable on the C5's?
Etc......
All feedbacks are welcome.
Thanks.

I've heard both good and bad.......... try hp performance up north around lake bluff ? I'v hear very good things about hp performance never used them,i know alot of people who have and they keep going back. heard good and bad about speed inc. in schaumburg. heard there basic stuff like exhaust and tuning is good, heard there engine building and trans work need's inprovement. the place i tried, was performance tech. center in elk grove. because its convenient for me.there a little pricey. i paid for a basic LS1 tune $250.00. i see speed inc.and others have it for around $150.00. was told geoff's moving shop to florida soon.

I have to relate my recent experience with Speed Inc. and its owner Tom Izzo (I believe I have his name correctly). I had some work done by them in which the work was actually subcontracted to a third party. The work was done, but not in a timely fashion, and there were a few additional problems which I complained about. The subcontractor refused to resolve these problems, leaving Tom holding the bag, so to speak. I offered a means to resolve the matter to Tom, to which he agreed, which cost him $$ from his pocket. I was appreciative that we were able to fairly promptly resolve the whole affair without anger or recriminations from either side; he stepped up to the plate, IMO. As should be the case, how the vendor treats you when things go wrong is the most important, and telling, thing.

I bought an extreme 427 package from them and with the exception of a few minor adjustments that were needed everything went great. 600 flywheel horsepower and great street manners.

I have had a positive experience dealing with Speed Inc. I had them install their 348 sportman engine package in my 02 Z06 back in march of this year. I flew up and picked up the car and drove it back home 300+ miles. Right now I'm talking with Tom about building a C5R 427 for my Z06 this winter. Tom has always responded quickly and professionally to my needs.

I'll put my comments in about Speed Inc.. I just had them install my Exedy Dual clutch on September 1st... The employees are great to deal with and very helpful. The install was done in a timely manner and I have not had any problems with the CLUTCH to date. HOWEVER, I did come across a install problem which left me sort of stranded on my way home on I-55 south bound. The rubber hose from the clutch reservoir to the MC had a huge tear in it just above the clamp. The tear must have occurred during the install and just grew worse as the car was being driven. You know what happens when you lose all clutch fluid.
Luckily, I was able to repair the hose on the side of the highway with help from roadside assistance(even more lucky roadside had a temp. hose that worked). Needless to say, I was pizzzzed.. I called up Larry @ Speed Inc. and told him what had happened. He apologized about the whole thing. I mentioned to him that they should just replace the hose as a preventive measure in the future with all cars. It only cost a $1 for a new one.
I would use Speed Inc. again in the future if I had too. But, I would suggest triple checking their work and be more aware of what is being performed on your car.
