September 29th - 2007 Pace Car Reunion
National Corvette Museum website www.corvettemuseum.com
As of today you can register online for the event.
The agenda looks awesome, starting in Indy and continuing to Bowling Green. We’ll stay outside Indianapolis, in Cloverdale, IN, the first nights, allowing an easier departure for the caravan to BG on Friday. Griot’s Garage has cordially invited us to be their guests for lunch on Thursday. Ron McQueeney, Indy’s chief photographer with lots of stories to tell, will be our speaker at dinner on Thursday evening.
Friday, we’ll caravan through the Indiana countryside down to Bowling Green. As usual, there will be lots to do at the Museum, including interesting talks by Howard Kirchenbauer (who has prepared Indy Pace Cars at the track since about 1978), and Wil Cooksey, Corvette Plant Manager.
Saturday, there will be a Pace Car Registry Membership Meeting in the NCM theatre, and a chance for you to hear about our ideas and express your own. Come meet and introduce yourself to other Members!
The “main event” will be the Dinner & Auction, and a chance to hear Jim Perkins, NCM Hall of Fame Member, ex-president of Chevrolet, and driver of the ’95 Pace Car. Jim is one of those rare people who connects with everyone and makes you feel good to be around him. He should also have lots of interesting things to tell us.
So don’t wait, register now so we know to expect you. And if you let me know too, I’ll try to keep a running list of who’s attending!
This Reunion promises to be the best ever. Don’t miss it!
