The grand opening date is is now March 3rd. He is waiting on the state for permits. Here are some more pics that I took last week. http://tooltime47.zenfolio.com/p276827396
This is a great cruise destination if you are relatively close. About 180 of his cars are on display, 2 acres worth, and he has another 40 or so that he plans to rotate because they don't all fit.

I was there this past Friday and purchased my yearly pass and had the opportunity to go through and look at the collection, Rick gave me and my friend a guided tour, the collection is outstanding and certainly something to be proud of...he is very knowlegeable but at the same time a humble guy.

This is a collection of cars that Rick seems to have a story for each and every one, I hope you are able to visit someday and enjoy what this man has put together for all of us to enjoy.

I think Rick would talk all day about his cars if you would sit there and listen.
I talked to him a bit about his 69 ZL1 Corvette. It is not one of the documented cars but he said that it has one of the original seven engines that GM built. That makes it pretty special. It may have been a development car or built to race. The development cars were supposed to have been destroyed but they possibly weren't.

They were not all destroyed, example the 83 at the N C M ! And you are correct Rick will talk all day about cars, his or others for that matter. He is just an old country boy at heart!

I just got mail from one of the "snow bird" nurses where I work in Michigan. She and her husband winter in the keys. She sent me an article dated 2-22-09 from the Miami Herald Sun.
"PUNTA GORDA CLASSICAL GAS Set to open March 1 just off Interstate 75 in Punta Gorda is Rick Treworgy's Muscle Car City featuring nearly 200 automobiles of every era dating back to the 1920s. The main focus, though, is on the muscle cars of the mid '60s to early '70s - Pontial GTOs, Chevy Corvettes, Olds 442s and the like that revved up the imaginations of teenage boys all over America. If all the horsepower makes your mouth water, there's also a Motor City diner serving up the tasty treats we used to order from the car hop at a drive-in.
Details: Admission will be $10 onetime pass, $30 annual pass. Children under 12 free with adult. 941-575-5959 or www.musclecarcity.net ."
The article has a pic of about a dozen Corvettes parked side by side.
My wife and I will be in that area the first week of April so we are planning on going.

Just called and we were told they were not open, until March 3rd. We were hoping to go out there today.
How did you see the cars?
