Nashville things to do?
It looks like my wife and I will be taking a day trip to Nashville this year during Cruise-in and we dont have any specific plans. Having never been to Nashville before, what can you recommend as some quick and easy must do things during a short stay (6-8 hours).
Thanks,
Preston
Edit: Reviews on the Smith house seem really mixed, so eating there is out. We're open to suggestions of a good local place to eat, or we will just find soemthing as we tour around.
Thanks,
Preston

A cruise to Mt. Juliet and a visit with the Mt. Juliet Mafia is always in order.
For a small donation - you might be able to get Dixie to fire up Bubba...

If wanting to see things related to the recording industry, the Country Music Hall of Fame, Opryland and "Record Row" are always worthwhile.
If want to see the ante-bellum South, take a look at the Hermitage (Andy Jackson's home) and Belle Meade Stud (home of the 1st American bred thoroughbred horse "Iriquois" to win the English Derby).

If you want a Nashville lunch, it's either meat and three, BBQ or hot chicken. So.... Arnolds for meat and three, Martins, Jacks, or B&C for BBQ and Princes for hot chicken

Thanks, we will take a look at those. We definitely want a local place to eat.

I believe in the Beer Fairy
But really - go up and down Broadway on any given night and you can catch live music and a few brews. For good food, you can check out Rotiers for a cheeseburger on french bread, for some awesome southern cooking, Puckett's Grocery, or for some choice cocktails and good food, The Whiskey Kitchen.
For sightseeing, you can check out the Parthenon, the Ryman, or Opryland Hotel, which has recently reopened from the floods this past may. If you are a fan of good craft beers, check out the Yazoo Brewery. Do the tour, get the glass, and enjoy a couple of cold pints.
If you have any questions or need more suggestions, feel free to PM me.

If you come through town on the right night, The Blue Stool might be open.

and as for night life, pretty much everything's on Broadway, 2nd Ave, and Church
Centennial Park is nice for walking around (that's also where the Parthenon's at) as is the Bicentennial Mall. driving around Belle Meade is a cool to look at. if your wife likes malls, Opry Mills is right behind the Opryland Hotel

and if you, for some odd reason, end up in Antioch, at least stop by Freeland Chevy before you turn around. they've usually got a ZR1, tons of shiny other vettes, & some built-in-house cars in the showroom.
