DC Third Street Tunnel Crash
I certainly hope this is anyone from the Forum.
WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Police say an overnight fatal accident in the 3rd Street tunnel was the result of racing.
Officials tell 9NEWS NOW the driver of a 1998 Chevy Corvette was racing another vehicle in the 3rd Street Tunnel near the South Capitol Street exit early Monday morning when he lost control as he changed lanes. Police say the Corvette struck a Jersey barrier, the force of which ejected the unbelted driver from the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
District firefighters and paramedics responded to the crash site where several injured people were evaluated.
Police say at least one other vehicle was involved in the crash. At this point it is unclear whether that vehicle was also racing.
