New C6 owner from Charlotte here. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys at local events.
On a side note, what is the best shop near Charlotte for Corvettes? I'm not really planning on anything yet but just for futures sake.

Cars & Coffee the first Saturday of every month is good.
I've heard good things about this shop but have not used them. "DUB" is a member of the Forum.

Had my 72's interior put in by them. Dub is a great guy and does great work. If you give him a call make sure you have a lot of time. He will talk to you about everything, and I mean everything about your car!

The Best Corvette near Charlotte is "Corvettes Etc"
DUB is the owner of this shop and does amazing work. His depth of knowledge on all generations of Corvettes is amazing.
He did a full frame off restoration of my 1974 Vette. It was a real basket case when I brought it to him and he turned it into a real gem!
Do not expect quick turn around times, even though with ALL the work that had to be done to mine was only 13 months.
His shop is a full service shop, restoration and paint. His paint and body work is 2nd to none.
He is very helpful here on the Forum and on the phone.
I recommend Corvettes Etc without hesitation and reservation.

Corvettes Etc. Dub has done work on my 66 and 70. He does very good work.

Just wanted to give another "atta boy" for Dub at Corvettes etc. He put a top on my 70 and did a bang up great job and was very helpful answering any questions before I ever committed to using him to do it. I have received a bunch of compliments from other C3 owners about how the fit of the top is on the car.
