Eastern NC Corvette club is renting out NCCAR in Roanoke Rapids this Saturday 8/1. I know they need more participants. I went last year and it is a fun day. Trying to finalize plans but probably going again.

Upcoming events at VIR
The meat of the VIR schedule is coming up over the next three months.
The Oak Tree Grand Prix - Aug 23-24
Tickets are a little spendy, but this is the big leagues with full factory sponsorship. The big races are on Sunday. More info here. There's not much in the way of seating at VIR, so bring folding chairs and maybe a pop-up.
NASCAR Biscuitville 125 K&N Pro Series East - Saturday Aug 29th
This is a development series for NASCAR. The cars are full Cup-spec chassis except they're powered by LSx-based motors making 500+ rwhp instead of the 800+ of Cup cars. Some of the drivers are 16-19 and don't have too much time on a road course. More info here. It's only $10 in advance, $20 at the gate.
National Auto Sport Association Eastern States Championships - Sep 5-6th
NASA's equivalent to SCCA's Runoffs. One race after another. Everything from Miatas to ex-Winston Cup cars, sometimes with 60+ cars on track at a time. A mere 10 bucks in advance, 20 at the gate.
Heacock Classic Gold Cup Historic Races & SCCA Trans Am - Sep 26-27th
My favorite event of the year because I'm old enough to remember when most of these cars were new. Every freakin' kind of car imaginable from Morgans to Le Mans prototypes, gen 1 Camaros to formula cars, even a Pinto or two. A walk through the paddock is like going back in time. Saturday is the best day to go to see the historics. Sunday is the Trans Am race though. Again, $10 in advance, $20 at the gate. More info.

Does anyone in the Raleigh area have Corbeau A4 seats installed? I would love to sit in them before buying. Corbeau says the closest dealer is in Concord, NC.
Thanks

If you're at the Oak Tree Grand Prix at VIR tomorrow, stop by and say hi. I'm usually somewhere on the hill along the bridge straight after Turn 6. I have an olive green pop-up.
^^^ I'm usually near this flag stand. ^^^
^^^ My pop-up. (Don't look at the pollen that collected in my taillight recesses.) ^^^

VIR's annual Charity Laps returns November 6th!
Gates open at 7:30 am and the event runs from 9 am through 4 pm. Drive the historic full course at VIR by making a tax-deductible donation of $25 for each session which last approximately 20 to 25 minutes. All donations collected will benefit the local Salvation Army and their winter/holiday projects.
