Hello all! Iam starting a Middle TN Get Together Thread and hopefully there will be some interest. I know there are plenty of clubs out there but a lot of us, myself included, either can't work around their schedule or just don't want to be part of a dues paying club. What Iam trying to create is more casual. This thread will just become a place to get information for us to be able to make suggestions and meet up. I'll be happy to admin over it & keep it updated, as long as there is interest.

Some meet up ideas I'll throw out there:

• Local events
• Cruises
• Car Shows
• Nascar Race day (can meet at someone's house to watch the race / beer & pizza?)
• Monthly get together at mutual place
• Trip to the NCM (I might be able to get us a discount rate in)
• Trip to the GM plant when it opens to see the new C7

Feel free to add to the list.

To start it off....who would be up for doing something on Saturday July 20th (weather permitting?). I am open for suggestions. Date not set in stone...willing to work with people.

PS: Iam working on getting corvetteforum stickers.

Out of town that weekend! If we can pick another day, I could talk to the owner of Anchor High Marina in Hendersonville about reserving an area of the parking lot for us and we could all eat and hang out at The Rudder. It's the restaurant on the water. Just a thought.

The Navigator and I are always up for cruzin, depending on our schedules. We're on the line between West and Middle TN (Savannah) so we have to go a long way to get anywhere . Don't just shine 'um, drive 'um!

Here's an excerpt from member smithmr in an ideas thread back in November:

Middle TN offers so many options for day cruises or overnight. Just using Murfreesboro as the starting point, trip to distilleries (Jack Daniels, George Dickel), Space Center, Fall Creek Falls, Chattanooga, Gatlinburg, Land o Lakes, Bowling Green (corvette museum, Beech Bend), etc. Just to name a few.

Iam just waiting to hear back from a friend about a track rental. Soon as I hear something I will post up. If that falls through we can just meet up someplace like a cruise in and then head over to some place for a bite to eat.

If the track thing doesn't work out and people want to meet up on a different date that may work too. Is a week later (July 27th) better or worst for people? Just throwing out ideas. Let me know.

The only date I have open any time soon is Saturday, August 3rd. Here is the link to The Rudder's website with pictures and menu. www.therudderahm.com. Let me know if this date works and lets get an estimate of the number of cars and I'll talk to the owner. He's an acquaintance being as I keep my boat at his marina!

Thanks Mike...I have a car show on that date but will miss it if we have enough interest in people who wish to attend this on this date.

I am still waiting to hear back from a friend on a track rental for July 20th. I should have an answer soon.

How many would be interested in Mikes idea of meeting up at Rudders on the 3rd? Time to be determined. This of course if our track rental thing falls through on the 20th. Post up.

Sorry getting back a little late...the track is Twin Fountains in Bell Buckle, TN. It is used for high speed karting and for cars as well.

Since we are still waiting to hear back from the track guy Iam changing the event to "The Rudder & Marina" for August 3rd....who is in for this?

I also updated the even on my Facebook to see if anybody is in. Mike let me know if you can see the link or if you can't and your on Facebook let me know your Facebook name and I'll send you and invite.

Hopefully we will have at least 5 or 6 of us to caravan up to Hendersonville.

I'm close to Chattanooga, so any get togethers you may have that are lets say 1-1.5 hours from here I'd be interested in.

I think this thread is a great idea.

However, I'm about as far west in TN as you can get, only about 10 miles from the Mississippi River. But, Middle TN is only around 200 short miles from me so I may be able make some of the gatherings. After all I'm always looking for a chance to take the Vette for a spin.

I'm now out of town on July 20th, but would love to know if anyone's going to be out & about the 19th...maybe in the Murfreesboro/Franklin area?

There is a big cruise in/gathering at "The Avenue in Murfreesboro" tonight 7/19. It's open to any type of car.

I'll be there. If you have a vette park in the back rows...(see the pic.)

Let me know by Thursday of this week if we have at least 8-10 cars and I'll see about getting some spots held for us at the marina. Otherwise we can just park wherever. Also let me know if anyone at all is coming so I can make other plans too!
