Default Looking for a good shop in Tampa Area

Looking for a good shop in the Tampa area that works on C4's.

Thinking about taking my 85 somewhere to troubleshoot my performance issue.

Any ideas let me know.

I know about the Corvette Shop on Dale Mabry and the Chevy Service Center in Clearwater that was once owned by Vern (He sold it according to his Facebook page). So any experience or info on those are fine too.

I live out in Brandon so Lakeland and Plant City works too.

I think I found the answer to my question...

For future reference for people looking for C4 capable shops in the Tampa area...

Powertech Performance in St. Pete

Looks like I am going to give Antivenom a shot, close to home and from various Vette articles I could see someday using their shop for more advanced work.

I think Pewter99 has a place he recommends out in Clearwater. He mentioned it here in my oil change at the dealer topic.

From someone who hasn't been there but has been around the forums for awhile, they seem to be good people housed in a VERY yellow building.

of all the places listed above none are forum vendors...the one that was is banned now for non payment of forum fees and non delivery of product...Vern has been having issues last I heard and after driving by his latest "shop" I can see why..... AntiVenom has been running a daycare at his place...which explains all the shoddy work he has been turning out...can't speak about the others

there is only one place in the Tampa /St Pete area I trust with all 3 of our Vettes...Powertech Performance.....based on the amount of business Joe and his guys do and the fact that Dimmitt is sending all their CTSV work to them I think I am in good company.....but hey its your car

According to Verns Facebook page he sold his shop, might explain it.

I was just listing all the places I found that supposedly specialize in Corvettes, I at no point recommended any of them.

Nice to get some info though. I will give PP a call tomorrow, do they work on C4's?

Vern is in his 3rd shop since I used him several years ago to replace a harmonic balancer....when I drove by his newest place i saw Vettes parked outside overnight along a main road and its not in the best of areas.....

I wasn't implying you were recommending them I was only giving my opinion on those I have dealt with and things I have seen over the past few years.

yes Powertech works on all Corvettes C1-C6 as well as Camaros....GTO's...etc.

Joe at Powertech is Awesome! Great service, knows what he is doing, very knowledgeable and loves his work.

Took my car there today and he had me fixed up and on the road by the afternoon!
