Default NC Tint Laws Help, From CT

Hey guys, I recently moved to Raleigh, NC and my 2002 Z06 is tinted all around with 20% tint. Now when I eventually register it down here is there anyway to bypass the tint laws? Connecticut has no inspections so you can get away with darker than 35%. Ive seen all types of cars driving with darker then 35%. I absolutely do not want to rip my amazing tint job off my car.

You'll have to find someone who is willing to overlook it. The problem is they are few and far between. They would probably have to know you, to let it slide. Good luck

Get an eye doc to write you a prescription for dark tint, or find an inspection place that will let it slide.

PM me sometime, i have several guys who i use to get that sorda thing taken care of. i have 5% on my car... lol. has been for quite some time. As well as the strip on the windshield. Yeah...it would mean to coming down here to concord, but its cheaper than ripping your's off. I know when i got mine done it was like $150... I have a guy who does tint as well.. Would rather make a short drive than redo a couple windows!

may be able to do it on a trip for a meet as well... the shops are open saturdays ...

Default NC tint laws suck

NC law is 32% minimum on all windows. Nothing on front window. Inspectors in NC are scared to loose their license. I been tinting since 1989 and always passed inspection. Old law says any car tinted before July 1 1988 is exempt from inspection. I got plenty of inspectors around Charlotte that will hook u up. I am the the best tintman in NC. The best.

Go to any Jiffy Lube...Pull a guy to the side and tellem youll give them $20 on the side if they inspect your car and over look the Illegal tint before you even pull the car around. If they say no move on the next spot.

Ive never had a problem with getting it done this way. Normally I take it to the same spot. I have no cats and 5% tint. Dont be afraid to flash a $20 on one of them young whipersnappers lol

And welcome to Raleigh!

I've got a letter from my Dermatologist for darker tint due to previous Melanoma. That works in every state. I just have them update it every 2 years and they are happy to do it. I'm very blessed. My friend Todd and I had it at the same time. That was 24 years ago and we buried him in 2.
