North, SC Dealer Information Search
I applied for and have received the NCRS shipping data report for my 1971 Brands Hatch Coupe called Sparty. It says the following, which might not seem like much, but it is huge for me.
The office GM production date was April 28, 1971.
The original delivery dealer was dealer code 109, zone 16.
The name and location of the deal was C&S Chevrolet in North, SC.
Now why is this fascinating? Trim tag for Sparty says I27 or April 27, 1971. So Sparty spent his first night still on the production floor in St. Lois, Missouri, Tuesday, April 27, 1971.
And now I know where he was delivered. North, SC.
I did some research on North, SC and it is located South of Columbia, SC but the dealer, C&S Chevrolet, is not listed in North now, and only about 500 residents. It is home to an Air Force Auxiliary Base called North Air Force Auxiliary Field.
I have the protect-o-plate for Sparty and his first owner that says he was purchased on or about July 13, 1971 in Columbia, SC.
Does anyone here familiar with the City of North, SC and or remember a C&S Chevrolet from back in the 1971 time frame? Any information you could provide would be very helpful and very much appreciated.
Thanks for looking.

That dealership was very small. Its been about 10 years since I went through that town but I believe it was closed when the auto industry crashed.
My wife has a friend that grew up in that town. What information are you looking for?
