Rookie Drag Racer
I am a complete rookie to drag racing but want to get my feet wet. I live less than an hour from Bradenton Motorsports Park and would like to give it a shot. Are there any members that head down there that I could meet up with for some instruction/tutorials. I'd like to have an experienced racer with me to keep from doing anything stupid.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Drifting
Live about 30 miles away but not a drag racer. Drive by a lot. There always seem to be a bunch or racers and they are usually very nice and will offer advice if asked. I would observe and talk to them before entering.

Post this same question up in the Drag Racing section on here and you'll likely get a lot of help.
There are a number of Florida guys that race their vettes.
Bradenton is a great facility, but there is also Lakeland, Orlando, Immalokalee, Palm Beach.
Don't be shy. The nice thing about going to a drag race event is that you can walk up to just about anyone with a race car and start talking about their car and the track and start asking questions. We all like to help new guys get into the sport.
Good luck!
