Default Anybody going up to the Tail of the Dragon anytime soon

I only had my zr1 a couple of months and would love to whip it around the Tail of the Dragon for a day. I have done half of it before in my 427 vert before I had to shut it down. My passenger was about to lose his lunch. LOL

I would like to do it sometime in June if anybody else is interested. Probably the 3rd or 4th weekend

I was just thinking it was about time for my annual road trip up there. Late June sounds good. My only availability however would be on a Saturday. As long as you get there early, you should get some pretty nice runs by lunch time. Afterwards, I'm sure it will be a clusterF.

I might could make a run up there the last weekend of june.
Made a short trip up to Mt. Mitchell outside of ashville this past sunday. Nice weather, but kept getting caught in slow traffic.

We need a facebook setting for all people in here to create events.

I just did the dragon may 13-17. Every year I go for an event called Zdayz. Started off Nissan and mostly still is but some of the best people I know. I go sunday, drive and drive till thursday and then I enjoy the folks and parties (we do it good at Fontana). Most people arrive Thursday. Its an awesome event and time.

That being said, I prefer the road from Fontana to the Dragon alot more than the Dragon.

Keeping TOTD in mind does anyone have a personal ranking of the roads they've had the most fun with in that area?

Have heard of TOTD, Cherahola, the snake, Moonshiner28, and others.

Me and my buddy were at ZDAYZ this year but honestly spent all of our time driving the roads. Great time, i may be able to make it at the end of june. Depends on whether or not my mother in law decides to get married lol. I already put in for leave so either way i'm traveling.

I've never been and looking to go. I almost wonder if driving up late on a Friday and then hitting it all Saturday would be best since it's a 4 hour drive from Charlotte.

Its definitely better during a Thursday or Friday vs the weekend. Less crowded by far. That and the other guys are right the roads surrounding the dragon are pretty sweet as well and less traveled by the police if you know what I mean.

Vengeance should be done with my car the week of the 22nd.

After pickup planning to hit TOD, the snake, and anything else we can cram in over a few days.

Anyone else heading there that week? Would be cool to meet some other owners during the trip.

Hey guys

Impulsive goat is dead on, This time of year especially on the weekend TOTD is a zoo, it still can be fun but be prepared very heavy traffic and
police presents on the other hand there a lot of great roads in this area
some IMO as good or better.

Trust me, I live here, this is literally my back yard and I ride these roads all the time Enjoy yourself and be careful.

Hey Fastmover,

Likely heading up in a couple of weeks. The week of the 29th if you want to meet up.

Which is your favorite road aside from TOD?
