NC SHP trooper in unmarked Grey C6
Driving from Raleigh to Charlotte yesterday a Cyber Grey C6 came flying up behind me in the fast lane, then switched to the right lane and passed me. A quarter mile ahead he pulled off onto the shoulder behind a breakdown vehicle. When I passed him I saw the red/blue lights flashing on the dash. This was in the Salisbury area. BOLO.

That black C6Z is actually a Wake County Sheriff, not State.. Wonder how many tires he has went through since they started using it.

I've seen the Wake County Sheriff's Z06 up close and personal. Cool car for any Sheriff's Department to have. If you haven't seen the Top Gear video about it and the ensuing chase scene, you need to check it out. Click on the link below, scroll down and click on "watch the full video". Be sure to have your sound on. Very cool - enjoy.

The cars were uncomfortable because the seats and the officers' Sam Browne belts did not go well together. Service pistols, pepper spray, extra mags, cuffs, etc around the waist made the cars VERY uncomfortable. From an officer safety point of view, they were also very difficult to get out of quickly. Additionally, it was nearly impossible for an officer to throw his body sideways, across the seat in a worst case scenario.
In general, IMHO, they weren't good cars for LE work.

NC and SC have both had a long history of running unmarked vehicles, going back to the SSP Mustang days.
I picked this ex-SCHP 1999 B4C up back in early 2002:
Very stealthy, with only a single 800 mHz antenna in the left quarter. We actually purchased quite a few of these for resale when they were available.
Whoever was driving the Vette in Wake Forest is a lucky guy!
