Daytona HPDE Sep30-Oct2 on the Rolex24 roadcourse
It's time to start planning to get to Daytona for one of the fall HPDE's on the Daytona Rolex 24 roadcourse!!
The next one is the Performance Driving Group (PDG) event Sep30-Oct2.
I posted up a thread in the AutoX/Roadrace section, so if you're interested in really turning your Vette loose take a look at it for info:

Only 60 days remaining!
Only 60 days until this great HPDE track event at Daytona Sep 30-Oct 2. Hope everybody is getting registered.
If you can't make this one, there's a good one Dec 9-11 as well. It's co-organized by an Audi club from Ohio and Hooked-on-Driving, and you can register through either outfit:

Hope to see you in Daytona for one of these really fun track events!!
Also, the Rolex 24 is run the end of January - unfortunately the Corvette Corral tickets are all sold out, but it's still a really fantastic race to watch in person at the track!

3 weeks!!!! WOOHOO!!!
Who else will be here??
Look for my Laguna Blue C7 Z06 in the garages.
Hope to c'ya at the track!
BTW - even if you aren't driving in the event, you might to come on out and watch the action!! And, if you run into an instructor, maybe you can even mooch a ride around the track during a session!! Yep - I'll be instructing!
If you live in Central Florida, or anywhere within a couple hours of Daytona, it might be a nice weekend day trip to come on over to the Speedway. It doesn't cost anything - you just have to sign a waiver form when you come in (tell them you're pit crew for Corvette Bob!) and drive on into the NASCAR garage area, park, and wander around and check out all the neat track cars and yak with drivers and other folks in the area. Here's a map:
You can see above that I-95 is just west of the Speedway, and I-4 comes into I-95 at the bottom left of the map.
There's a bunch of construction being done on the interstates to widen them and improve the connection from I-4 onto I-95, but it should be easy to get off I-95 onto ISB (International Speedway Blvd).
You enter Gate 40, which is off Williamson Blvd, just south of ISB.
Enter the gate and turn left. As you follow the road around there will be a "toll gate" sort of looking thing (but they don't charge anything!) and that's where you'll sign a waiver, then drive through the Turn 1 tunnel (under NASCAR Turn 1), into the infield, and follow the road around into the the NASCAR garage area. Park and walk on into the garages and wander around. Most Corvettes will likely be a Corvette Forum member, and be sure to check out forum member Mjolitor 68's bad-azz Daytona Prototype - it's WICKED!!!

The first day of the event was great!!! The weather was excellent, and fun was had by all!!
Here's my C7 Z06 running a couple of laps:
There are 4 or 5 HPDE type track events here every year. This year there was one in April, this one Sep30-Oct2, there will be one put on by PCA Oct21-23 (racing and advanced solo DE drivers only), and one put on by an Audi club and Hooked-on-Driving Dec 9-11.
The Dec event is a great event for any level of track driver (never driven to advanced track hound). Check out the links below if you want to drive the track in Dec:

Hope to see you here at Daytona for one of these great track events!!
