Welcome and your gonna have a blast!
I usually run front 30-32 cold, they will get up to 35-40 on the hot track.

To elaborate a little more on what Mike (US Icon) said...
1.) Absolutely can run with the top down and coupes can run with the roof off if they want...Helpful tips as I have run this every year...
a.) Windows down, roofs off or vert tops down will obvious produce more turbulence and wind noise. LIKE a LOT MORE! If you like playing the radio or recording on a camara you will only want to do this maybe for one session for the experience. Don't waste all your sessions as you will not be happy listening to very loud wind noise on your video recordings and afterwards will be saying to yourself...man wish I thought about this before I ran!

2.) I will stress as I do each year...run where you feel most comfortable. If this is your first time out, you are a bit nervous, or plan to run the minimum speed of 90mph, ride in the very front or the very back. This will allow others that are more experienced &/or know their cars capabilities (some have superchargers, turbo chargers, nitrous oxide, etc) to run together and stay a safe proper distance to one another. They will lead by example and you will learn quickly how far to be between you and the car in front of you. We all want to have fun and enjoy the experience but most of all be safe!

XtremeVette (Jeff) guidance is spot on accurate ... wind noise and turbulence will absolutely affect your run and any video recordings ... I typically run with windows closed and roof on

... I also agree with the newcomers (you are absolutely welcome to join us !!!) running very up front or very back for at least their first run to understand and experiment with what the limits are for both driver and vehicle.

Hey everybody...I have started to add Hotel information so that people know where others are staying. Let me know via PM where your staying and I'll get it added. Be sure to let me know the city...usually gonna be Pell City or around Hoover Chevrolet.

Just changed to Hampton Inn in Pell City, might as well make it unanimous instead of being the odd one. Looks closer to things also.

I just spoke with Gary ay Hendrick Chevrolet in Hoover AL and he said they will be having the car show again but this time they plan to have more room. Everyone can start showing up at 1pm and it runs through the evening. Food truck catering, fire dept, and the Mayor will be in attendance. I believe there will be more activities at the dealer just like last year but I didn't ask. This is on Friday May 26

Perhaps we can all caravan down from Pell City to Hendricks around noonish.

Count us in on the caravan to Hendrick's on Friday. It will probably take me three days and 1000+ miles to get down there from NJ (doing Tail of the Dragon and Cherahalo Skwy on the way down), is there anywhere to wash/clean the car when I get there Thursday? I'm sure it will need it.

There is a car wash literally a block away from the Hampton and you will drive right by it to get to the hotel. I have never used it or even seen a Vette use it. I prefer do my own bucket wash with my own products and have always used the Holiday Inn spigot. Last year I walked across the street to Wal-Mart and bought a 25' garden hose and just left it for everyone to use. Heck, maybe it's still there.
