[SMC] SUCCESSFUL Charity Event for Children's Hospital **PIX**
Rush Fitness in Knoxville was having a membership drive and asked Cathdoc to see if the Smoky Mountain Cruisers would come out and bring their Corvettes to help with promoting their event. We agreed under the condition that we would have our "display" in their parking lot and collect money for a local charity of our choice.
They agreed!
So 25 Corvettes (1 Cobra, 1 Hummer) gathered today in the parking lot in front of Rush Fitness and had a "People's Choice" car show where you voted on the vette you liked with dollars. Our charity for this event was the East Tennessee Children's Hospital
So for 4 hours with the weather cool and cooperative, we had fun outdoors with our friends and showing off the Vettes. As the day went on, nobody knew WHO was going to win. There was alot of "ballot stuffing" going on :grin: , but the REAL winner was the hospital because...
WE COLLECTED OVER $1500 DOLLARS!!!
Thansk to Cathdoc for "organizing" this event and Vertago for choosing and coordinating the charity.
The People's Choice Awards went to:
1st Place - Vertago (wade, Pewter C5 Vert)
2nd Place - EvilKevin (David, Blue 454 vert C3)
3rd Place - Cathdoc (Val, bowling green metallic vert)
Thanks also for Bob "Violater" Moss and Dragon's Breath Performance for his patience with a barrage of questions.
After the show, several of us headed to HOOTERS for our traditional after event "chat & chew".
