Default LED Mod day Nov 25

I am going to be installing LED's in a fellow members coupe Thanksgiving weekend. I am willing to help other members in the area do the same.

I am in Brea.

email gkopko@adelphia.net or PM.

Gary

For a list of parts look to forum member SpdKilz's web site http://www.spdkilz.com in the techtips section for a general list of wat is needed.

If you are considering doing the bezzels for the gage cluster, this would be the time to do it.

Here is the list of parts needed that I have compiled and where I got mine;

Order the following from http://www.oznium.com/led Get the 470 ohm resistors with them. The total number of LED's and Resistors are 56 but get a few extra (total of about 60). I used white 8000mcd LED's.

Door switches
6 3mm LED's with resistors
********************************
HVAC controler
14 3mm LED's with resistors
********************************
Radio - Factory
10 3mm LED's with resistors
********************************
DIC / HUD switches
7 3mm LED's with resistors
********************************
Trunk Release/Fog light switch
1 3mm LED with Resistor
********************************
AH/TC cover
2 3mm LED's with resistors
********************************
Auto Shifter
4 3mm LED's with resistors
********************************
Mirror Electrochromatic
12 5mm 8000mcd LEDs w/o resistors

**************************************** **
Get the following LED's from
http://www.superbrightleds.com/led_prods.htm

Courtesty and Trunk lights
LUXART LED Module - SBL brand (select your color) Qty 4
***********************************
Mirror (Non Electorchromatic)

That looks cool, and also like a ton of work. Especially when looking at changing all the of the different panels to LED's. Or am I thinking this is more difficult than it really is?

The pain is the HVAC controler and the DIC/HUD buttons. All of the others are relatively easy. Most of it is making sure that you have all of the parts when you get started.

Here is a picture of LED's in my vette.

It is done in white LED's and is better looking than the picture shows.

Al

It took me about 2 to 3 hrs to do what I did. But it was over a couple of days. I think I can do up to 3 cars on a Saturday afternoon, having the owners take their cars apart.

Gary, Did you upgrade any cars this weekend? If not I would still like to try it. This last weekend didn't work, nor does next, going to WinterNationals at Pomona.... I know, beggars can't be choosers.

This is the only weekend I have for this this year. I am helping another member do his car this day and decided to offer my assistance to others in the area.

Depending on interest, I might do another one in the spring.

Understand, it's great of you to help. Just a busy weekend with T-day and all. Oh yeah, there's a football game too...

If you do this again I'm there!

Default Change in LED recomendation

I removed the Reverse Light LED recomendation because it is not bright enough. At this time I do not think there is a good enough LED bulb to replace the reverse lights.

Although they are not LEDs, you can find 50w back up bulbs for those that want the extra brightness.
