C2 shop in San Fernando, La Crescenta, Burbank area?
Hi all,
I got a 1966 coupe a couple of weeks ago, and it's decided that now is the right time for the clutch to start making grinding noises (all the time, but mostly when the pedal is pressed, but it still seems to work okay). A clutch job is something outside my repair abilities, so I'll need to take it somewhere. I'm in the La Crescenta area, so shops in Glendale/Burbank/San Fernando Valley would be the most convenient (most of them seem to be in Orange County). Anyone have recommendations for a place in the area that can handle this and other C2 repairs (alignment, etc)? I read that Gulstrand's in Burbank is no more...
Thanks!

Mike Bradleys Automotive in Chatsworth recently did some work on my '64 and did excellent work. He is also open Saturdays which helps. He works on a lot of classic Corvettes and other cars.

Pass on Guldstrand.
Sounds like a throwout bearing not a big job
Wish I had the time I could knock it out in a day

Call Deed's Automotive in Burbank http://www.yelp.com/biz/deeds-automo...ervice-burbank
Ask for Steve Deed's. Steve has a 427 Vette, I am not up on the older C numbers. His may be a C3. Had it since new.
Very good and very honest. When my shop was in Burbank, he serviced all of my wheels.

Here's a 2nd for Mike... Don Hooper (who recommended him) & I went to the shop to drop off my '66. Mike did an outstanding job in fixing several things that needed to be done to get the car road worthy. It's a long way from me, but he's my first choice to do any other work that comes up. Not cheap but worth it.
