Default 2013 Corvette Challenge Season Announcements !!!!

2013 CORVETTE CHALLENGE by Speed Ventures

Well guys and girls the Board Meeting went down yesterday and here are the results:

1. Classing/Points: They will remain unchanged. Some tweaking may be necessary for the C7 as its performance envelope becomes known and a driver with one attends an event.

2. Rules Change: In order to be eligible for a Season Trophy a driver must attend at least 5 events.

3. New Drivers: First time drivers will be given 1/2 entry fee for one event. MRLS and Infineon are not eligible.

4. Sponsorship: At this point we don't know which 2012 sponsors will be returning. I will update this thread as sponsors sign up. If you know of an interested sponsor please have them email me (dirty-howie@hotmail.com). Gold Sponsorship is $1200 and Silver Sponsorship is $400 (payment installments are accepted).

5. New Corvette Challenge Logo(professionally designed) will adorn this years shirts.

6. Schedule: There will be 11 events. We tried to get some on Sunday as well as the usual Saturday to try and accommodate everyone. We have 2 events at each of the local tracks and will run different configurations at SOW and BWRP. We will have away events at Chuckwalla, Mazda and Spring Mountain. Minor changes may occur.

Here is the schedule:

February 24 -- Auto Club Speedway (sun)
March 24 -- Chuckwalla Valley Raceway CW (sun)

RPM will be back -

Every year that we've been involved competitors with our engine and suspension packages have won the unlimited / ultimate class as well as numerous podium finishes in the other classes . We certainly intend to keep that alive and, wherever we can, recruit new racers and help grow the challenge.

Happy New Year to all....

Nice job Guys!!!

Looks like I got a taste for running slicks on the last two events, and will be running them at most events in 2013.

I'd like to get out in my C5 on some of the closer events, so I may end up splitting my points between two classes, or maybe just run with the big dogs and try not to get ripped by Rob too much...

Either way, it will be another good season!! The rule changes look good!

I will be back again as a Sponser, so see if you can't get me on the T-shirt this time... I'm letting you know early.

I plan on reaching out to my connection at VETTE magazine this year; look for some possible ink on the Corvette Challenge!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Great to hear that you will be returning as a sponsor. Adding you to the list.

Just get your logo to Dave at SV and you will be on the shirts.

Have fun tearing your hair out on each event figuring out which car and tires you are going to run

Nate

There is only one place they check for sound on the track. So you can let off the gas at that point. But evidently 105 is VERY loud

I would think with your LEO connections you would be able to get yours checked.

Let us know if you can and if you can help some others out as well.
