I suspect the reason for not having a "Novelty" class for vehicles like this, is that you save the price of another trophy.

I have attended Plastic Fantastic for the last 10 years as a spectator, and last year I decided to enter my Corvette as I felt it was a worthy addition to the show. I would have had no problem having any of the other "real" C3's winning the awards, because there were some sharp looking cars there. But the fiasco of the Limo being put in the C3 class
plus the show staff not seeing anything wrong with that, and defending their actions...makes the event lose all creditability I'm not the only one who feels this way. After last year's show I talked with other Corvette owners who have attended the show..and I told them what happened...there response was...."WTF" I think that says it all.
There is no sense beating a dead horse, so I will end my rant.. there are more important things to worry about in life.
We don't discriminate against any kind of Vette. Where would you draw the line on too custom? Remember the Greenwood Vettes? Big time custom body kits. The limo is a c3. Of course, that was the most custom Vette we've ever had. We draw the line at each generation. We like to enjoy the day as well. Make it too complicated, it becomes no longer fun. It's a lot of work putting the show together. It makes me happy you all enjoy it. I do too!

Went to the show last year for the first time. It was great...Only problem was they ran out of T-Shirts. This was the best Corvette Show on the West Coast, short of the 60th Anniversary event at Laguna Seca in Monterey.

Couple of questions please. Thinking of attending for the first time. Live in the LA area.
Is there adequate (safe) parking for my Corvette nearby, where I can park, and walk in and enjoy all the 'show cars'? If so, where, and how much to park?
Or, would it be better to just pay the entry fee (don't mind giving support to the charity), get in with my car, and enjoy the show from the inside; kind of ???. I don't feel like i have a car I would enter into shows, ordinarily; but hate distant parking for events.

Not an expert at all, but the neatest parking is going to be right there with the other cars for $30.

Also Gaslamp is a Great place to party the night before. Come on down on Saturday, eat and drink on Saturday and show and look on Sunday.

I totally agree. Parking on the grass with 300 new friends is the way to go! Sea Port Village has parking, but it's not nearly as fun.....

Outstanding. Can't wait to see it. No preview needed IMO. The limo won it last year. Your car this year?

There's always a place to drive up the grass. You just have to look. My car is lowered too and had no problem last year. I just picked the right spot.

Tee shirts are always a problem. Go there first. Our guy makes them and sells them. We don't have anything to do with it. He doesn't want to get stuck with extras. Go see him early.

My wife and I will be spending the weekend in San Diego and it would be great to hang out with everyone the night before. For those going down on Saturday, where are you staying?
