Melting Slicks
I was raised on Berry Drive in Studio City just south of Bruno's. My mom still has the house. Haven't thought about Bruno's in decades - well before any dreams of ever owning a 'vette.

I remember going by Brunos many times, too young and broke to step foot in there though. That was about the time Super Shops on Van Nuys closed down man were those good times!!
Old iron ruled, at least 3-4 nights a week there was car action goin on in the valley. Back then you could cruise all night til 4am and never worry about a thing. Not now

Burning Brakes
I travelled from Prince Edward Island in 1983 to the LA area on vacation. Bruno's was on my list of "must see" places. I think I recall it wasn't much of a building. Possibly an old service station with a fence all around the property.

Dougs custom paint in Chatsworth used to paint a lot of custom corvettes back in the 70s also hes still there.
Does incredible paint. The Insurance job he just did on my Silverado is almost too nice to drive way better than factory.
(for those of you with late model vettes who wants someone good)

I remember seeing Brunos as I drove by, I thought they were just a body shop for Corvettes. Anyone remember "House Of Corvettes" on Sepulveda near San fernando Mission Blvd? I remember going in there during high school in the mid 70's and drooling on the cars. Wish they were there now.

Bruno Corvette
I remember Bruno because he was one of the Sponsor of the North Hollywood Corvette Owners Club.
He repaired my 62 Vet when I was rear ended and I met Doug Hooper when
my 62 Vet was stollen and the 4 Speed Transmission and the Fuel Injection were taken.
When I was looking to buy a new Vet Bruno asked me to buy one that only was premiered so he could make fiber glass molds then he would paint it any color my wife selected. Instead I bought my friends 66 Vet.
Bruno was always available for the members of the Car Club when ever we needed any work done. Doug Hooper use to rent a stall from Bruno and did any engine work Bruno need done. Doug eventually opened his own shop on Ventura Blvd.

I bought all his photos!
Hi all!
I buy lots of vintage and antiques, I also happened to buy a large amount of Bruno's photos! He did Cleopatra Jones' corvette so I have lots of behind the scenes stuff including negatives. I pictures of him working on so many prijects that if you told me what year he had it, I may have the fix pics!
His wife, Lynn Borden was a Hollywood starlette who's father illustrated the Lone Ranger and I have all her pics and ephemera as well. Im glad to have found this forum to do better research. Everything has been bagged and sleeved, but im always researching! Id love to interview anyone who is interested bc why isnt there a documentary about him?
