I had a wheel bearing fail last time out at Buttonwillow. As I was digging into the repair I couldn't in good conscience reuse any of the 9 year old stock hubs, bushings, or suspension.
So I took some time off, saved some money, and bought all new suspension components (coilovers, sway bars, race hubs, and bushings). I also sold my ZR1 rims with PS2's and bought a CCW/R6 set up.
I will probably spend the morning on the Pilot Super Sports getting used to the changes in the car and then put the R6's on in the afternoon.
Looking forward to getting back on track! Hopefully I still remember how to drive.

And the competition in Unlimited heats up

Good for you Nick ! I am sure you will see a huge difference in your lap times straight away ! When I upgraded my c5 z06 this year, so much easier to drive on the limit ! Cut my Buttonwillow laptime cw13 from 2.04 to 1.51 ( ok - quite a bit to do with learning the track also !)
Will not be at willow springs as do not like the track. Sure to see you at either spring mountain,CVR, buttonwillow or Laguna next year.

Thanks Richard! That is an impressive Buttonwillow time. I am very curious to see how my times improve with the changes to the car.
Did you see that Circuit of The Americas in Austin, TX is on the Speed Ventures schedule next year? That would be quite a drive.

I am a very keen track rat Nick but not quite keen enough to drive to Austin !

Thanks for the warning about "the Dodge", whatever that is. Us SRT guys will also keep on the lookout for this "Dodge" threat. Lucky for you that you can "dodge" the problem by conveniently going to a wedding.

Forget about space or dodge the space, let's put that SRT in the cross hairs.

I really, really, really hate to bring this up, but Motor Trend just reported that Randy Pobst could only do four laps in the new 7-speed C7 Z06 before an oil temp warning came on and he had to coast back into the pits. This occurred on an 85 degree day.
After my year it makes me glad I didn't try to order a new Z06, have to wait for it, and then find out that it would overheat after four laps.

I may not be driving but that doesn't mean I don't know how to stir the pot
PS: still want a ride

I look forward to giving you a ride. But let's wait until after the rain stops. It's enough of a handful to drive in the dry.
