Word is the Irvine Company is cracking down. Irvine Company also decided not to renew the lease on Orange County Raceway in 1982.

Makes sense though! Apartments and no noise make more money than a huge group of cars making noise.

Apparently they are relocating, but I haven't heard where to yet.

I'm sure it will relocate so I won't make any extra effort to get up there this year. Hopefully it won't be too much farther away. Quite honestly, I see the same fate for Cbad C&C as it has been reaching an unorganized critical mass.

This is sad news, I hope they can find another venue. I really hope mike100 is wrong about the fate of Carlbad's cars and coffee.

I heard too many people doing burnouts killed the event. The neighbors hate being waked up at the crack of dawn on Saturday when they want to sleep in.

Yup; pretty much what drove C&C out of Crystal Cove. Sad, indeed.

Hope they can find a new venue.

Latest from the The Register, El Toro doesn't have the facilities... CC out grew its its location due to popularity.

I always wanted to go to the Irvine C&C, but never made it. My suggestion for a new venue would be where ever there is a large expanse of concrete. Airport or military installation would work good.

Wow!...exactly why I didn't go even though I have enjoyed past trips up there. The biggest reason why there are so many people at that event is that there were more spectators than participants. Sort of always seemed odd that it was a destination for people without toys of their own to show.

Nice article in the Wheels section of the OC Register today on the history of C & C and why it ended.

None, the cops had it blocked off at 5am. I drove over and found a gold C3 at the entrance to Mazda HQ, he was talking to the cops. The cops looked like they really enjoyed turning away people. Sucks. Well I made it there quite a few times. Truly a famous event, I saw a lot of great cars there.

They had a mini Cars and Coffee at the District in Tustin yesterday I attended. Only Corvettes were a C5 Z06 and myself maybe 80 overall cars. It was OK but not even close to the same.
