Default Cars & Coffee crowd got the boot from the District.

Officially told not to show up. Hope they get their act together and find a permenent venue. I always liked Cars & Coffee in Ivine. A very unique event.

...if you find someplace to put up the insurance, pick up the trash and serve coffee and donuts "EVERY" month...but I doubt it.

I wonder if they would turn away politically correct electric cars?

Carlsbad is pushing maximum density nowadays, but are still in the good graces of the shopping center...for now. They always felt like second fiddle to irvine and there was always a big social media push to make it more popular...be careful what you wish for- now it's too big also.

Is Carlsbad still running cars and coffee?

Been a long time since I've been there.

Looks like there will be an announcement that the new location will be in Aliso Viejo. They apparently got approval from the city council. Can't imagine where (exactly) the location would be?

Never been to a cars and coffee event. What exactly happens? Is it like tailgating or do you guys get coffee at a place there? I guess the center can kick people out for loitering in the parking lot if they want to.

Sometimes I bring my own cuppa; others, I buy it there. At the Irvine site, a vendor came in and sold java, sweet rolls and b'fast burritos.

What happens is we stroll around with fellow car peeps, enjoying the displays and fellowship. I don't know if the IRV site was unique but there sure was some exotic and pricy hardware that showed up. Oft, manufacturers brought their latest to get exposure to the some-have-the-bucks crowd.

They announced that the new "official" site is the "Town Center" in Aliso Viejo. There seems to be a parking structure there and a large parking lot surrounded by various businesses including a movie theater.

It has a sizeable parking lot, besides the structure, which is near the theater. The center's lots extend away from the Lowes, with plenty of establishments for food and more.

It's just off the toll road and probably more convenient than the 'D' was; certainly couldn't be less inhospitable.

I'll check it out on Sat; hopefully the dash will be reassembled by then.

Anybody hear anything more on the Aliso Viejo site? The posts about the new site have been taken off the Facebook page? I was going to check it out this Saturday....
H

I can answer my own question, it's on..! 2 weekends now this will be the third. New Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/candcav

Strange how the old site is saying nothing. They probably want it to grow more slowly...

The inmature punks keep acting like they do, with burnpouts and such it, will shut down as well. Several people were told last time not to come back again because of such activity. It is always a few that spoil for everyone else.
The two weeks prior to accidents in the lot because of clowns

I had to work last Sat morning, but I figured it would be that way. The problem seems that people are bringing friends, but not their cars. It is now more of an unregulated spectacle. At least Irvine had a cover charge of sorts. Also my pet peeve is that everybody wants to make a video and more and more elaborate quad copters are buzzing around. All you have to do is realize that gravity is absolutely always present and unforgiving and it won't be long before one of those things comes down on some cars.

I think I'm gonna hit up the one at the Boll Weevil in Clairmont Mesa next time around.
