Default Cops like Vettes: fact or myth?

I've had my crystal red C7 vert for 18 months and 27,100 miles. I was stopped for the first time on Monday, for speeding, in Big Bear Lake. I asked the Sheriff for a break and got off with a warning. My home and business are within close proximity to four police jurisdictions: LAPD, LA County Sheriff, Glendale PD, and CHP. I regularly get honks and waves from cops. I've gotten numerous compliments on my Vette from cops. What is your experience?

I've never gotten a wave or thumbs up from one, but I've never been pulled over. 20k miles 07' through three sets of tires.

I'm sure on the average they like vettes more and give its owners more respect than Japanese rally cars and German cars.

No cop so far haven't give me a thumbs up nor pull me over. Actually, I used to get the wave when I had my Harley from the bike cops, that's about it. I always have my trusty radar with me on the vert.

I was not driving and circumstances were a bit strange. In Tahoe doing a relay race. The drivers of my car got a ticket for no front plate Did a very temporary fix, took it to the CHP and the cop tha came out to check it went nuts.. WHO WOULD WRITE UP A VETTE FOR NO FRONT PLATE THAT IS JUST UGLY WHY WOULD A COP DO THAT!!!. He checked off my ticket and I came home and removed the plate.

No front plate? Stay away from Laguna Beach! The city cops there are vicious! They've got the fanciest building in town!

They probably generate the most revenue in town as well.

Also stay away from Santa Monica. They are horrible there. They will give tickets for anything and everything they can find. I parked my car for 20min and came back to a ticket for front plate. Beach community cops are the worst with this sort of thing I have found over the years.

All I can do is hope, I don't want a large enough sample size to find the truth, in case it goes badly. So far, one warning to stop looking at the pretty girls and drive and nothing else.
Never got a warning before, just tickets.

I obey the speed limits, and have the front played screwed into the bumper.

Cops are guys, and usually patriots (i.e. slanted towards American muscle).
Response to mine is generally good. There's always a few bad apples....

For the last ten years I spend a week in Tahoe every September during the Reno Air Races. Never been stopped for no front plate or anything else. My symphathies to those who are forced to install one.
