12.8 in the 1/4? 9.5 to 100. Sounds like he was having traction problems.

He was having major traction problems. He said it ran better mph starting off in 2nd gear too.

I learned that at 1/2 to 1 mile events it's nothing like drag racing. I listened to some old guys at a TX mile event and they told me quit trying to launch like I'm at the drag strip. They said just ease off the line, short shift each gear without spinning the tires and then pin it in 4th and/or 5th.

I tried their advice by accident and found out they were right. Was driving a stock '09 ZR1 at the mile. Made 3 passes driving like a madman off the line, spinning tires, doing the WOT shifts, etc and ran 172mph each time. Then the 4th pass I went from 1st right into 4th gear totally by accident, it bogged really bad, but I stayed WOT. It seemed like forever but it finally started to wind up and pull hard so I ran it out the back door like that. It went 174mph! Blew my mind, but they were right.
