That's not correct... Most of the SoCal track days allow motorcycle helmets, although they recommend SA helmets.

This is not correct for most track day organizations. Motorcycle helmets with Snell rating are usually approved.

SA is the rating for auto road racing. Snell is a motorcycle helmet certification. If you race SCCA, NASA et al, you will need an SA 2010 or newer helmet. Snell 2010 or newer is OK for Speed Ventures, Speed District, etc.
