Charlie is still around. Though he had some health issues and isn't at the shop much. Auston is keeping the shop running right now, mostly focusing on building engines and tuning cars right now.

Sorry to hear about Charlie he built my motor several yrs ago and it's still a street beast. If anyone sees him or talks to him tell him to get better and rest up.

Pops.

I would recommend that you stay far away from that shop. I had a very bad experience with them and I've read about multiple others who have as well. Do a search on this forum and on Yelp.

Charlie and Auston built my Twin turbo car and engine. Loved their work.

I have always been very satisfied my dealing with RPM. Charlie and Austin are 2 of the best LS and Corvette guys around. I will be having more work done in the near future.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. There was a time there where they took on a little bit too much work and may have rushed some cars out. Plus Charlie had a very short temper a few years ago, and I'm sure he snapped on some customers when he shouldn't have. I can guarantee with Auston running the shop now they are top notch! He puts all his focus into engine building and dyno tuning, and works with a second shop down the street on things like suspension, brakes, and electrical work. This help lower his work load so he can focus on making your car perfect!

They always treated me great and I was pleased with my results there. At times it took a little longer than i expected but the final results were to my satisfaction.

Seriously dude, Charlie went off on me and many others, even when I tried to make nice with him...

This went on for a number of years, and MANY folks had their dream cars held hostage for many months, some even years...

He refused to answer questions and problems that his customers had here on the forum, and was banned some time back.

I certainly wish him no harm, and am sorry his health went bad, but the way he ran his shop and business, not to mention the way he treated many of his customers, was just not right.

Up in that general vicinity...A&A Corvettes in Oxnard, but that's about an hour away from RPM. Andy is a great guy, and has been in the vette (and LSx performance) business for a long time.

Another full service LSx shop more down in the LA area is American Heritage Performance (AHP). I highly recommend them...Kohle at AHP is very meticulous and his shop is impeccable. Nothing but positive reviews on here about their service and support...especially in the C6Z forum because they are cutting edge leaders in the "in-house" cylinder head rebuild department.

Andy has been at it a long time, and has a good group of guys working for him.

I hear nothing but good things about AHP, and their Mec Edwin is a great guy!

For me, I built a Garage with a Full lift and loft in it. I bring up a GM certified Tech to help me out with the big jobs, I do the rest myself...

Donny is a GREAT guy, and a VERY good Mec, not to mention a hell of a driver!! I do speak with him, but live up in the mountains of Idyllwild, so having him make that trip is hard.

I have a certified hard line tech that works at the local Chevy dealer come up, he's VERY good. One day, when things slow down for me, I may entertain some outside work...

If your looking for service in the LA area (or there abouts) Give us a call
310-326-2399
or email us @
HP@americanheritageperformance.com

P.S. Edwin who used to work for RPM back in the day (was the lead tech who originally got RPM their good name) is our lead tech and has been for over 2 years.

I went to the PRI show in Indy last week. While waiting at LAX for my flight, Charlie and Austin came up as they were on the same flight. Had a good visit with them.
