Default Just signed up for the Targa Rally.

We have done the Targa California and Targa Baja California for the last three years. Just signed up for our third Targa Baja California. This is a great rally starting in Southern California and going into Baja for 3 and a half days of great driving, people and food. The roads are great, super group of enthusiasts and unbelievable support.

It would be great to see another Corvette down there besides us. Its a vintage event, so limited to 75 and earlier, although I'm sure they'll let any C3's in(and obviously C1,C2).

For those worried about going down south, don't be. We have police escorts the entire time, we are welcomed at the border by local dignitaries, 24 hour secured parking, nice hotels, great food, better roads than what we have here, winery tours, etc. There is also a modern flatbed that follows the group in case of breakdown and even a dedicated line when crossing the border!

The driving ranges from very spirited to comfortable cruising-you can go at your own pace with no pressure to go faster or you can really wind it out. There are open highways, mountain roads and even a couple hillclimbs. The cost is very reasonable as well.

Many of the entrants are Porsches with Alfas, Jags, Shelbys, BMWs, Mustangs and yes, us, in the lone Corvette!

Thanks-figured it was a longshot as it seems most early Vette owners these days are more concerned with matching numbers and whitewalls, than actually using Corvettes as Zora intended.
