My First AutoX with SCCA at El Toro 8/20/16
Great venue, great people, very well organized and great course!
Lots of serious and experience drivers as well as track prepped cars.
Special thanks to Steve for caravanning down there and showing me the ropes. Got to hang with Flloyd (Fast+Lloyd), Randy and a Bill slightly older than me with same stock black C6Z06 except he has front sway and Hoosiers
Started in the high 60 seconds. First two runs I DNF missing the correct slalom entry point. Third run I had the course and it was not hard to learn as I had feared from looking at Steve's monthly postings.
My best time of the day was 60.068
I did a couple more 60.xx at end of day with Steve in car but was too whooped by then to break into the 59.xx range.
Best moment of the day was Steve tensing up and telling me to slow down for the last multi cone slalom. But then say exclaiming how awesome and perfect I executed it
Below are two runs. Not my fast ones of course because Track Addict seems intent on fvcking up in one way or another every track day (I'm taking it off my phone and just using iPhone standard video from now on). Also got a vid of Flloyd finishing one run. And then one of me showing how NOT to finish. But I must say that I did a nice job of not spinning or taking out 20 cones
