Default 2012 OEM ZR1 exhaust with x pipe

i have it installed currently on my z06 but might be selling the Z soon and getting a new Z

if you dont know ZR1 mufflers are 3 inches all the way to the tips and these mufflers sell for 1000-1100$ in the market place and hard to find

I am willing to trade for stock Z06 exhaust plus money on your end ( PM me to figure out the money part )

i am in Irvine but willing to travel withing 100 miles or so

i can take pics if you need to see or hear them ( they do sound more aggressive than Z06 mufflers )

I might be interested as I've been reading that doing the "muffler mod" to my 07 z06 could cause more trouble down the road with weird rattles, etc.

But I'm also thinking I should just go aftermarket for best sound...

Does the ZR1 mufflers also drone at low RPMs (1500-2500 RPM) in loud mode? Or is the exhaust note more "staccato"? My current mufflers drone pretty bad in loud mode at low RPMs so it's always in quiet mode on the freeway

They are? They don't neck down right in front of the can?

As I've always understood it...the ZR1 mufflers are quieter in closed position, and louder/better sounding in open position, but the OP may be able to shed more light.

Thanks, I am hoping to hear OP's car in person before making the decision. If it is indeed as you say then they may be the ticket. I'm this close to just buying a set of Corsa sport mufflers new but I just can't justify freaking $1700+ for a new set lol. Just hoping in loud mode the ZR1 mufflers don't sound muffled the drony at low RPM like my Z06's stock mufflers do, I already have a mild to wild switch and the car is in loud mode 99.9% of the time

I hear ya; and while I've heard Corsa's on some cars sound great...one of the coolest features on our cars is that bi-mode exhaust valve. It would be a shame to get rid of it...that's why I went with B&B fusions on a used set with only 100 miles, and the price was way too good to pass up.

I had Corsa sport on my former base Vette and I loved the staccato of its sound texture. There was no drone but long road trips ( > 3 hours straight driving) still destroys the eardrums to a certain extent. My biggest complaint about the Corsas is actually how loud it is at idle haha, I couldn't hear myself think at stoplights.

Hopefully the ZR1 system is truly the best of both worlds. I love the option of having a quiet mode on cars like ours
