Melting Slicks
Fwiw:
The practice runs the track was dry. The timed runs screwed up everyone's times, as it was raining and wet. Brian, Teddie, and Mike Viper Stig were all 1 -2 seconds faster before the rain. I watched the timer clock. Viper Stig was in the low 36's. I hit 37 with my finish line wipeout but I hit a cone after the finish line and they didn't count it!

I heard different but if I heard wrong and you say you've never gone out on a Friday and done a lot of laps I'll accept that. So, to be clear, you showed up to a configuration you'd never seen, did 9 practice laps and 3 timed laps.
Clearly you had different circumstances that we did on Sunday. I guess you should comment on a day you attend instead of imputing your performance on a different day to one you didn't attend.
In my practice laps I got progressively down to 36.6, with a passenger, and I was shooting for a low 36 in my timed laps. I was the first car to go out in the timed laps and it was raining for the first two laps (windshield wipers were needed). That's where the 38's came from. My last timed lap was a 37.2 but they didn't record it, I don't know why. When Darren sent me the email it only had the two 38's and no third lap so something went wrong.
Too bad you weren't out there on Sunday. It might have been interesting.

Do you need a little cheese with that whine.
Not only do you have excuses for why you can't drive any faster, now you're making excuses why others can.
The timed runs are what count because there is no telling how many cones you hit or by-passed to get your time.
Timed runs are different, somebody is watching.
Different day, there was a guy out there Sunday that went faster than I did on his timed runs.
Try leaving your bag of excuses at home, who knows, might be worth a second or two.

You call them "excuses", I call it clarity.
Steve, you haven't clarified the circumstances under which you ran. Are you going to do this or are you going to continue to avoid them.
Is it possible that conditions on Sunday were different than on Saturday?
Remember, we're going for clarity and honesty here. Give it your best shot.

I'm not sure any of this qualifies as "smack talk" since all Steve is bringing is fiction. And he doesn't respond to specific challenges or questions. But here's an observation that may keep you "smack talk" lovers happy. I think Dirty Howie could drive Steve's car faster than Steve. I'd pay $100 to see that. So there.

PUT UP OR SHUT UP!
Bring lots of money because your driving won't get you out of this.
I was a full 2 seconds quicker than the next car on hoosiers, that's kinda where you'll be.
This will be like shooting a duck in a barrel.
Stop at the store, hire a professional driver,
JUST BRING IT!
What will be your long list of excuses now.

The wife and I go out there and have fun, the quick time is just a bonus. This is a street car set up for the street and driven to the track.
It's like a Star Trek phaser set on stun and it's killing a certain would-be competitor.
All fun set aside and bring in the competitiveness of my human nature (racing) and now you've thrown emotion into the mix.
That's where that fun ends and this new fun begins, if this is the case I will set the phaser to kill. If not, I'll leave the phaser on stun and continue to have the fun that the wife and I enjoy at these venues.

If you keep beating me by a few tenths I may need to open a can of whoopass of smack talk on you.
