Mike Vasta from The Block of Orange passed away on Oct. 25th.
I'm sorry to report that Mike Vasta has passed away. His wife of 38 years made the announcement via Facebook.
As some of you know, he sold his silver C-6 a few months back to Richard from the I.E. Crew.
We will all miss him, he was so kind and helpful. Speaking of helpful, a few years back we did the Mt. Baldy run, a guy broke down and everyone thought he was going to be okay. We had lunch and went home. Mike was late having lunch, found out he was still stranded and drove all the way back up to Baldy to help this guy out...now, that is true kindness and a super Corvette owner!!!
So Mike, wherever you are...we're thinking of you!
With love from everyone at The Block and our deep felt condolences to his family in their hour of despair.

Just WOW! Sincere condolences to his wife, family and friends.
Mike always made me feel part of the group on Vette runs and things. We had a blast hanging out together at nights when all went to sleep on the Kings Canyon/Sequoia trip back in 10/11. He was a sport and even took goofy pics at my request I wanted for me at various times on the trip since I was by myself. One night in the hotel, at the bar after all left and it was closed down, he brought down his Petron Tequila that he loved and we shared a shot. It was very cool.
Rest in Peace Mike!! I will never forget our conversations and friendship I felt with you
Here is a classic that Mike did when his silver vette had the harmonic balancer issue the day before the Kings Canyon/Sequoia trip. Himself and his wife weren't going to miss that trip so he rented a car and made sure it was known he was part of the pack.

Mike you were a good man, always enjoyed having you down for our runs!
RIP brother, I know your hanging with Ray up there and telling tall stories about Corvettes.

This was on FB from his wife Suzanne "If anyone would wish to honor his memory,
a donation is name to St Jude's would make him very happy--it was his favorite charity
and he gave generously to the cause."

Hate to hear things like this. I feel like CF is one giant extended family (albeit dysfunctional at times ); so its extremely unfortunate to hear when one of our CF family members passes away.
