Default Jan. 15th-Pomona Swap Meet-Park your 'vette for $25

For those that have never been to the Pomona Swap Meet, it's a great venue to visit this Sunday.

The weather will be perfect, park your Corvette in an area with only Corvettes and be graciously parked by me...John (Sparky)!

Parking is $25 when you come in thru Gate 15 off Arrow Hwy. You can come in anytime after 3 AM and get a front row spot. Usually about 100-150 show. All years are usually there, so there are plenty to see. If you want to take your steel car, parking is $10 and admission is $10 thru gate 17.

Park it to show or sell. Plenty of places to eat and buy beer!

The swap meet part is just like you remember as a kid, with plenty of "stuff" to choose from. You also get to admire 1000's of every kind of car you can imagine. The areas are: Corvette/StreetRod/Muscle/Classic/Porsche/Import/VW.

Hope to see you there and don't forget to say I saw the post on the CF!

Well put my friend. It is fun to see so many Corvettes and other cars too. I bring my grandkids (one at a time of course!) and introduce them to all things automotive! See you next week and hopefully many more Corvette owners.

Just curious.....

Why is it just $10 for General Parking and $25 for a Corvette? Are you parking on unicorn grass? A well manicured golf course? I just don't see what the difference is. Parking is parking. Unless this is an all Corvette "Car Show" where you receive a goodie bag and a Pamona Swap Meet T-Shirt and there will be prizes/raffles given away as part of that $25.

$25 to park at a Swap Meet......Am I missing something?

Yes, you are missing something. It's a swap meet AND a car show!

One half of a 1/2 mile long area is dedicated to cars. The 1st section, when coming from Gate 15 is only Corvettes. 15 cars wide and whatever deep...up to the grandstands of the raceway. The 2nd section of cars is twice as wide and as deep and the other sections are the same way...totaling 100s and 100s and 100s of cars, in those sections I mentioned above

First in and first out at the end of the day. Also, quite a few cars of all makes are for sale, probably over half. Not to bad for $25 to sell your car and have 10s of 1000s of people looking at it.

The other half of that 1/2 mile is dedicated to the swap meet part...so, half parked cars, half swap meet, of course along with eateries, etc.

Now, you want to park with the masses, it will be crowded and will cost you $10. Another $10 to get in...and a real joy getting out when 2 PM rolls around.

So, to recap, for $25 you get "preferred parking", get to park with other Corvettes. You get to try and sell if you want and zip out when you're done. Talk to other owners, make new friends, sit in loungers, BS or walk around...another perfect day to spend a Sunday.

That's why the place is always crowded, even when it rains. The last time it did rain, 60 Corvettes showed up! Sunday, anywhere north of 125!!!

Hope to see you.

Sparky

Parking on the inside is so worth the extra $5! Plus if you are shopping parts you can put stuff in the car rather than carry it the whole time. It saves a long walk back out the general lot after you are tired from looking at everything.

Around 5-6 AM to get in early for a good spot (first couple rows) or 9-10 AM (four to five rows back) when the traffic dies down. These times are for your Corvette.

It's was pretty cool going for the most part and for $25 it's definitely worth it and better then $20 for general. Didn't take much pics but when I was leaving just took one of mine
