Are you guys part of the So Cal caravan or No Cal caravan?

Just read another post and I see you are in the No Cal group.

Dawson a slight change of plans for me getting to Rio Vista.
From the information I got at the Corvette show in Concord, it looks like
your club will be going 680 to 80 to 12 to Rio Vista. So I'll be meeting up with the Discovery Bay Club since I want to do the
River Road route to Rio Vista. We'll be catching the Discovery Bay Caravan in Antioch as they leave Highway 4 and hit Highway 160 to go over the Antioch Bridge. Anyone else want to join us? I'll be at McDonalds on Highway 4/160 at 7:45 having a cup of coffee while I wait for the Caravan.
Before that I'll be leaving the Standard Station at Clayton and Treat in Concord at 7:15 sharp.

Ray. I will check with my club. I'd prefer the river route (Hwy 4/160) too. Maybe they didn't know it might be a nicer ride. In any event, see you all there.

Dawson the best part of the River Road is from Rio Vista to Interstate 5 (IMHO), which I think your club is doing. There may be some pictures taken by a friend of Dick's (Caravan Captain) from his airplane as we snake along the road.

If they take the pictures and share them, I'll be happy to post them.
I'm going to try and post my pictures of Rio Vista, Sacramento and Reno on Sunday night. Once in Nashville and Bowling Green we'll see if we can take some pictures of Pacific Section members and their cars to post here.

Awesome! I can't make it all the way to kentucky. I can only make the Rio Vista to Rocklin trip, so any photos of the rest of the caravan route would be worth saluting. :flag

Getting a little excited about this once in a lifetime opportunity to participate in the 50th anniversary activities for our Corvettes. I'm sorry I'm not able to go all the way back east, but starting at Rio Vista and making the first leg up to Rocklin should be a gas and an opportunity to meet many new NorCal brethren...Ray, we'll see you at 7:15am on Saturday.

I posted this under a different thread.
----------------06/09/03 Update----------
Unfortunately Reno Corvettes was unable to secure permission from the hotel to serve coffee and donuts on Sunday and I declined to take the caravan back into Reno before we leave. Just another case of trial lawyers ruining a good time. I believe they are going to have some discount coupons for us on arrival. I guess we meet everyone in the lot (I plan to have a cooler) and get a good nights sleep for Salt Lake party.

Dick is the NorCal Caravan Captain.

Dang, I guess we choked on that one. If anyone needs any info on the area, let me know! Is everyone staying at the nugget?

I've got the vette all Zainoed and ready to rock! If you see a dark metallic green 75 with sidepipes and a corvette forum logo in the rear window along with a "we will never forget September 11, 2001" flag symbol, then that would be me...licence plate reads IMROCKN. For myself I'll be wearing a dark green FBI T-Shirt. See you there!
